Angel knows he's blessed. On Friday, it was announced that the R&B singer had inked a contract with ByStorm Entertainment and RCA Records, years after making waves in the British music scene. In celebration of the milestone deal, Angel released the video for his new single appropriately titled “Blessings.”

“I was at a frustrated point in my life and like most things I try to channel that into my music. ‘Blessings’ was a result of that,” he told Complex. “I turned that frustration into appreciation. The lyrics and melody came naturally to me, it wasn’t something I even second guessed. The song almost wrote itself. The song is special because no matter what your circumstances are you can relate to the message. That’s important to me.”

The video, directed by Paul Akinrinlola, provides a glimpse into Angel's life back in London and the community that raised him. The visual includes shots of Angel in a barbershop, inside a restaurant, and hanging out on the front steps of a flat.

“With the visual I wanted to bring everyone to my world, and show the people where I grew up and show them some of the closest people to me,” he explained. “I’m a simple man so kicking it with my close ones at the family crib, or posting up on the block with my day ones is those priceless moments that Blessings’ is all about.”

You can watch the “Blessings” video up top and stream the Stephané Alexandre-produced track on all major platforms.
