This 1½ hours session will reinforce the online Key adult training which is a prerequisite for the school to sign up to Operation Encompass Birmingham. For more information on the Key adult training follow the link: https://www.operationencompass.org/operation-encompass-on-line-key-adult-briefing.
Description
The session is aimed at providing the opportunity to:
- review the implementation of Operation Encompass since it was launched in Birmingham in September 2021.
- discuss the Birmingham process map and how schools can help continuous practice improvement.
- understand the Operation Encompass purpose, and to consider the role of the school in supporting children who may be experiencing domestic abuse immediately following an incident.
Outcomes
What will it cover?
- Introduce Operation Encompass and how this process works in schools
- Understand the Operation Encompass process and the responsibility of schools
- Consider the impact of domestic abuse on children, young people and their families
- Consider how children and young people can best be supported in school on the day of an Operation Encompass contact and any ongoing support they may need
