Straight up...this book had too much OW sh!t in it. It torpedoed what could have been a 5-Star read for me. The first 5% had us hearing details about the chick he hired to sell his house and her c*ck sucking skills (and goody for us, she shows up halfway through the story to be a bitch as well). Then we get a nasty scene with a different random giving the hero a BJ in a bar bathroom (gag). After that, the book got loads better, and I thought things were looking up. Oh, we still had to hear too many details about how much of a player this guy was (which continues throughout the whole figging book), but the connection between him and Peyton was building nicely. That is, until 35% when he decides to take some random out behind the bar to f-ck her. He doesn't go through with it, but the intent was there, and again I was turned off.

description

I. JUST. CAN'T. ANYMORE. I am SO over this type of cliché drama in books. I want to like the hero. I want to root for the hero. I want to believe in the connection between the hero and the heroine. When you shove sh!t like this in my face, you make it impossible for me to feel any connection. The book started with me thinking the hero was a nasty asshole, and even though there were glimmers of a decent guy throughout, it wasn't enough to get me past my first (second, and third...) impression(s) of him.

description

So yea, If you take all the cliché OW stuff out of the equation, the book was decent. Hence why it is getting 3-Stars and not a DNF. The mystery aspect (which actually turned out to be a little anticlimactic), along with the hero's secret (which I figured out very early on). Along with how much I adored Peyton kept me hooked enough to keep turning the pages. I loved the setting. The sex scenes were hot. There were some interesting secondary characters as well (especially Coda).

As I mentioned, I ADORED Peyton. She was an awesome character. Quirky. Sweet. Smart. Rutledge was a mixed bag. He had moments when I really liked him. He had the whole "Babe...do what I say" alpha speak that I LOVE, but I think I am just tired of the "damaged asshole hero that uses OW, talks to them like they are garbage on the bottom of his shoes, and then throws them away like used tissues." If they are good enough to stick your dick into then they deserve at least a smidge of respect...sigh. I wanted to love him. I tired. I really did, but I just never got there. The author's set him up for failure right from the opening of the book.

description

Last, the ending of this one was SOOO rushed. We don't even find out the hero's secret until 90% in, then all hell broke loose. I legit thought this was going to end on a cliffhanger! That late into a book we should be gearing up for a happily ever after. 90% is WAY too late to be dropping huge secret bombs, not to mention a ton of other sh!t that gave me whiplash. Anyway...I am sure most readers won't be bothered by the OW stuff as much as I was, and I usually love L.A Fiore's writing...so do be sure to read a few more reviews before deciding on whether to give this one a go or not. I am but one opinion in a sea of many (lol).

description

SIDE NOTE: Oh, and just a funny side note. The hero and heroine go to have sex for the first time and he tells her he is clean (because he doesn't feel like going out to the truck for a condom), and of course, she is all OKIE DOKIE. Nevermind the fact that he was letting some random go down on him in the bar bathroom like a week earlier without any protection. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but oral herpes can be transferred to the genitals via oral sex. So he really didn't know if he was clean or not...sigh.

This collaboration between Fiore and Dwayne was pure magic!

These authors created a story and characters that immediately grabbed a hold of me and when the story was done, they wouldn't let go. Even now, I can't stop thinking about them and it's been days since I finished this book.

Rutledge was the perfect blend of tortured and brooding hero. The type of man you want to hug as much as you want to throttle him. The kind of man you don't mind being bossed around by... especially in the bedroom. He was sexy and kind and I loved the many ways in which he loved Peyton.

Peyton was an absolute sweetheart. She was warm and loving and the perfect complement to the cold and somewhat distant hero. Their initial 'meeting' wasn't the stuff of fairytales, however, this soon turned into a fiery passion that neither had ever felt before. I loved how willing Peyton was to shoulder some of Rut's burdens and how she instinctively knew exactly what he needed most.

There was plenty of humor to be found amongst these pages. I lost track of how many f-bombs that came from Rut's mouth. He made swearing an art form (my kind of guy). Amongst the swoons and romance, there was a bit of a suspenseful edge to the story which spoke to the darkness hiding in plain sight within Rut. Every element added made this one heck of a story to get lost in. Huge doses of sweet with a couple dashes of sour made Unleashed a definite must-read!

2,5 stars rounded up to 3

There are really good parts of this book that I enjoyed and then there are really problematic parts of it that made it a mediocre read for me in general.

Writing:

I don’t know how co-writers write a book, I mean if they write all chapters together or each chapter is written by one of the duo. In any case, I believe it is hard to make it flow.

In this book, things feel choppy at times and there are so many parts that don’t flow as they should. Also, I felt like there are missing parts – parts that need a re-write, filling in the blanks so that they have better fluidity and coherence.

The best way to put it is that I believe each chapter needs a revision and addition in itself as well as a better connection with the next chapter, all to provide more consistency with better cohesion and flow.

Characters & Plot:

Another reason why this book wasn't more than 3 stars for me was the hero, Rutledge. I love some as*holes but he wasn't the one.

The hero, Rutledge, was a man-wh*re until he met Peyton, the heroine. And I can deal with that, no problems. However, unfortunately, the way he treats those women he hooked up with and the way he talks to them is so very disgusting and I couldn't make my peace with this side of his character. That's where he lost me.

***

When Rutledge talks to Peyton, he is an alpha, ordering around, with a pinch of sweetness in it. I don’t know why – maybe the way he constructs his sentences plus the tone of it made me feel so but every time Rutledge spoke, he sounded like Max in “The Gamble” [Colorado Mountain #1 by Kristen Ashley], albeit a bad imitation of it. I would be OK with some of his alpha-maleness but his constant ordering around with a lot of “Do this – don’t do this” disturbed me and prevented me from liking him.

***

Rutledge had a traumatic experience when he was 9 years old and we learn it towards the very end of the book but it is so very predictable; therefore when it is revealed there is no shock effect.

And I am so sorry about it but in my opinion, this traumatic experience is no excuse for his shitty behavior to other women he hooked up with.

***

What I liked about Rutledge is how possessive and protective he was of Peyton but it was too-insta so it didn’t feel all so natural.

Also, Rutledge speaks using the word “f*ck/f*cking” a lot in his sentences and I liked it 😊 I don’t know how it sounds to a native speaker but to me, he sounded charming doing that, especially when he used it while expressing his feelings. Peyton makes fun of him, saying Hallmark is missing and his words would make great love cards!

***

Peyton is a very sweet woman. I liked her. She makes the story better with her participation in it. She was living a life that didn’t satisfy her and she wanted to change it. She wanted the romance in the books, a life that had a meaning and when a trouble at work triggered it all, she made a major change in her life, moving to a small town she adored and that brought the love of her life to her.

She was the light to Rutledge’s darkness, the peace to his demons. For most of the time, he treated her well but he did push her away at a certain point for a little while.

***

The story of Peyton and Rutledge is told by dual point of view and the book has a happy ending with an epilogue.

The pace of the book has problems, though. The book is long – 311 pages and it is sometimes repetitive with similar daily routine (eating / shopping / renovating the house / talking to townspeople / having sex and having lots of it – and then, repeat it all!)

***

Despite not liking the hero of the book enough, I was interested in the story to continue reading the book. I wanted to see if my predictions were correct because there was some mystery going on. However, the easy predictability of it diminished my reading pleasure. Add to it the choppiness of writing here and there, I was never fully invested in the book.

Safety:

- Intimate scenes with OW before he meets the heroine

At the beginning of the book, there is a BJ scene with a random woman before he meets the heroine and I know some readers do not want to read hero’s scenes with other women so I am putting this information here for them.

- Shitty way of treating & talking to OW

He is absolutely disgusting with other women!

- No cheating after he meets the heroine

There is no cheating on either side. However, the hero once intends to hook up with a woman he meets at the bar after meeting the heroine, but he doesn’t go through with it. There is not even a kiss… only the intent but nothing more. And this happens at the very beginning shortly after they meet.

Recommendation:

Well, if none of the above are your triggers, you may read it ... or not. Well, not a big gain or loss, I guess... There are definitely some fun and hot parts of it one may enjoy but I am sure it won't satisfy your need for a good romance novel with a decent hero.

ok, This took me a while.. I admit it and I do apologise but the truth of the matter is, I really didn't know what to think about this book to be honest.

I absolutely adore L.A. Fiore's other books but this just wasn't one I would EVER reach for again.
And it literally pains me to say that because I did try guys... to the point where I even re-read it twice. Yup, that's how dedicated I am to L.A Fiore's writing.
But NOPE!

I could really nit pick and point out so many things I didn't like about the book but I really can't...actually, I won't.

This book is a pass for me. The male protagonist annoyed me... sure, there were moments where I saw glimmer of hope but for the most part.. Thank You, Next!

I liked the female protagonist but sadly she wasn't enough to make this book memorable for me.

I will say this, You should read L.A Fiore's SAVAGE and OUR UNSCRIPTED LOVE. These two books are flipping beautiful... especially Our Unscripted Love. *sigh*

While you read that, I'm going to pretend I haven't read this book.

I never thought I'd want to cowrite a book. Figures I'd hook up with someone who never thought he'd want to cowrite a book. I gotta tell ya, I absolutely loved cowriting this book.

Opposites attract and Rut and Peyton are opposites, but they round each other out and fill in all the empty places. Anthony wrote a hell of an Alpha male. Rut is possessive, controlling and capable of loving deeply. He also has a fondness for the F-word.

Peyton is sassy, sweet and sees the man under the damage and is willing to fight for him, even when it's him she's fighting.

I hope if you visit Ogg's Point, you enjoy your stay.

And to Anthony, you're the absolute best. I can't wait to start our next collaboration.

A sensitive, romantic and funny tale about an odd couple who met in the picturesque small town of Oggs Point in Maine. I was so enamoured by the beauty described in novel, I've decided to settle down in a beach town in maine myself.

description

There's a secret in the dilapidated yet beautiful house facing the sea. And a shed on the sprawling acreage, right at the edge of the cliff. A chill runs in the air, somebody's watching.....always watching.
You get shivers, hair stand on end and a pickling fear that you're being stalked!!!
Make a change. Find something that makes you happy.”

description

This house was an impulse "drunk-click" buy for Peyton Morgan, who's running from trapped life in Boston and the moment she steps out of the car-Rutledge Raines's life is dumbstruck! They get confrontational, combative, bantering and then teasing. Life becomes interesting and entwined and then something happens that pulls them apart and .........
Go read the book. It releases Dec 7th!!

description

Hot sex, dirty talk and christening of every counter, room, truck, space, cause Rutledge is a sex machine. He made the pages "moist"😂😂 . He's a straight talker, cut to the chase kinda guy. Alpha of the Alphas.
“I know that, baby, and you gotta realize, I’m not the kinda guy that fucks the same woman four times in one day. I lose interest after I blow my first load .”
He’d never write for Hallmark , but I couldn’t lie, I preferred his way with words.

Peyton is controlled and intuitive, pensive and loyal. Very compassionate and equally passionate. They both set the pages on fire. Pink heart shaped pages.💗

description

There's so much love in the book, so many powerful emotions, such strong bonds of friendship, kinship, camaraderie and belonging, I was constantly awed and perpetually hungry for more.
“I lost my family. You lost yours too. The stories you shared about your grandmother, this place, I wanted it to be a home again.”
“But I realize it isn’t the building that is home. It’s you. You are my home.”

Ahhhhhhhhh, the story just soaks in your soul. I wanted to lust after Rut, love him, marry him and at times strangle him. I couldn't stop reading so that shows how interesting it was.

Heroine too much forgiven
Little grovelling

Ooooohhh Boy.

That was intense, but what a great start to a new series!

I guess I should have figured out that there would be some crazy going on after reading the blurb, but I didn’t expect it to hit from the very beginning and have that low level anxious awareness simmering throughout the entire story. Combine that with the perfect balance of humor and heart, and well written characters...well, this one kept me turning the pages until the very end.

I loved Peyton. She’s sweet and snarky with a golden heart and definitely knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. She comfortable in her own skin, owns everything that she is and makes no apologies for it.

Rut. I loved the man, I did, but ooohhhhweee... He has a lot of demons riding him, and believe me when I say that my heart broke for him and could understand why he was the way he was, but man he definitely tried me at time. He’s all kinds of alpha AF, and when it came to him turning on the charm and smexy ~ the man was lethal ~ but he also took ‘blunt and to the point’ to another level.

While Peyton and Rut’s journey to the HEA doesn’t start off smoothly and they encounter more issues than anyone should have to, I really enjoyed watching as they became more to each other. It was fun and smexy (Lemme tell you...SMEXY!!) and gave me all the feels. What I enjoyed the most was how, even as they evolved, they never lost who they were at their very cores. As for the Sword of Damocles that falls and interrupts their journey, it frustrated me even when I could understand the reason behind it, though I definitely didn’t agree and would have liked a little more grovelling ~ but that’s me ~ I did like where Rut and Peyton ended up when the book was done.

I’m already a #fangirl of one of the authors, so making grabby hands at Unleashed was a no brainer, and after finishing the book, am now a fan of the other author. The writing was seamlessly done and engaging, the pacing good and dual 1st person POV enjoyable. And I could tell that they had a great time getting these words out together even with the heavy issues they addressed in this book. I’m not going to get specific, but the triggers are intense and I think that they both handled them well. As for the secondary characters, this one definitely runs the gamut ~ there are ones I loved and ones I wanted to gut with a spoon ~ but when it came to the ones I loved, Smitty & Coda are at the top of the list. And then there is the town of Ogg’s Point itself, which was a character unto itself. It felt like a small town would with everyone up in everyone else’s business and one you’d visit and fall in love with the unique characters that populate it.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where this series takes us and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

"Even whatever haunted him had helped forge the man he was, a man I thought was perfectly imperfect."

I was excited to get at taste of the writing duo of L.A. Fiore and Anthony Dwayne. I've been a longtime fan of Fiore, but this is my first taste of Dwayne. Honestly, now that I've finished reading it, I still have no idea who contributed what. Their collaboration was seamless.

When I first met Peyton I underestimated her strength. When life threw her a curve ball she flipped her sassy switch on and made me proud. And once the story evolved I realized that her intuition and thoughtful responses where exactly what was needed to soothe the beast.

Rutledge is an alpha asshole who purposely pushes Peyton's buttons. He's been dealing with demons for so long that he rarely bothers to use the manners his grandma taught him. Can I just say, I adore him? He's bossy and foul-mouthed and arrogant and sexy and so damn broken. He can have any woman he wants, but he doesn't need more than a quick release, and then it's bye-bye baby. He doesn't do relationships and he doesn't apologize.

Their first meeting in person was memorable. They were both lust-struck. But that didn't stop the barbs from flying. "My guess, she might be a little peeved, but that was okay with me, because I liked a pissed off Peyton." I liked it too. They were gasoline on a fire and I was tempted to grab a pot holder for my Kindle, just in case, worried the heat would be too much for me.

What I loved most about this story is when Rutledge talks. It cracked me up when Peyton told him, "Seriously, Hallmark is missing out." He's got his own caveman lingo that gets his point across with as few words and many fucks as possible. I couldn't stop smiling and swooning over him...sigh. ❤️

As Fiore is famous for, there is no absence of suspense and surprises. I always enjoy trying to figure out what's coming, I'm afraid to blink or I might miss something. There are some amazing support characters that I'm excited to see again in future Ogg's Point stories. I'm worried that Rut is so damned good that anyone else will pale by comparison. This dynamic duo has their work cut out for them. The line forms here...

This is the first book from the duo of L.A. Fiore and Anthony Dwayne. I have read and loved all of L.A. Fiore's previous books but Anthony is a new to me author...until now. After just finishing Unleashed, I will say that I will most definitely be reading more of his books. Unleashed was great! It started out with an enemy to lovers feel but with Peyton and Rut's connection being so off the charts, their story developed into an explosive love story. Throughout the whole book, I couldn't wait to see what Rut was hiding from his past and when I did...It totally blew my mind. I was not expecting that!! My heart broke for him. If you are looking for a suspenseful, sexy as all hell love story, Unleashed is the one!

Thank you so much to L.A. Fiore and Anthony Dwayne for the advance copy! I am really hoping we get more of this amazing duo and Ogg's Point!

Rutledge doesn't really ask thing, he sorts of demands them, "...then I’ll drop you off at the Inn, you can do some girly ****, and I’ll pick you up around six, yeah?” Rutledge likes to help his girl work on her confidence, “Peaches, you need to stop this shy act when you’re with me, ʼcause you’re gonna be effing naked a lot.” Rutledge likes to ease his woman into making decisions and be ease I mean urging her the heck on, “you do whatever the eff you want. Whatever color you want.” She smiled up at me and I went on, “But baby, you think we can we do it before we’re old and gray and I can’t eff you anymore ʼcause my ***k doesn’t work?” I freakin adored this book, I loved Rutledge the man was half caveman.

I'm fairly new to L.A. Fiore's book and The Gathering is what had me falling in love with her writing. Once I heard she was teaming up with Anthony Dwayne to write Unleashed, I thought why not give this one a chance. Although I thought the writing was great between both of them, I couldn't connect with the hero at all. And there were things here and there that didn't work for me. I did find it rather enjoyable, lots of steamy scenes, but there was something about Rutledge that I couldn't deal with at all.

This book really pulls you in from the very beginning, to be honest, I didn't know what to expect at all. I thought Fiore and Dwayne make a terrific author duo and I'm definitely hoping they plan to write more in the future. Their writing, together absolutely works!

Peyton; I truly loved her character, she's sweet, feisty, takes chances and just has a heart of gold. She's definitely the woman to take Rut down a few pegs. When it comes to Rutledge, I don't mind an alpha here and there, but he became a bit overbearing and he's definitely a player. A bit of a jerk if you ask me, but it was to be expected since he constantly gives that off. And I kept wondering what the conflict was going to be between them. It'll remain a mystery about this broken man for most of the book, but once it was revealed, your heart will definitely break for him. Despite everything that he has endured, I can't say that it excuses the way he treats women, period. I was so nervous that he was going to treat Peyton the same way because she is definitely the light to his darkness. And the last thing she deserves is to be screwed over by someone she has deeply fallen for.

I truly enjoyed this but didn't love it as much as I hoped. The writing is top-notch, but the lack of connection with the hero had me at an impasse. I am so looking forward to the next release by this new author-duo!

5 fucking sexy as sin stars!! Omg it’s been awhile since I added a book to the favorites list but this bad boy is going right there!!

This is a story of love, loss, demons, hope and lots of naughty bits!!

First of all I want to say these two main characters are like my all time favorite. Yes they both infuriate me but they make me love them all in the same sentence!!! Rutledge (never even heard that name before..I love it!) is such a little ass but in such a good way. I mean he is exactly my type of man. Ahhh I think he is my book crush of the year, maybe even EVER!! Peyton (such a pretty name as well) is fucking awesome!! I almost forgot her name just wanted to call her Peaches. I think these two are PERFECT together. And all the secondary characters were just great and fit in the story beautifully.

This book had a few twists and one twist I did not see until the very end. Good job there to both authors. This was written by two authors but let me say I had no clue. It blended like perfection.

If you can not tell I am I enamored with this book! Please everyone if you are looking for a sexy love story, with twists and turns and deep dark secrets this is it!! This book is a definite MUST read!!

Oh and I can not wait for more drama from Ogg’s Point...hmmm maybe Kinsley?!?!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

The quaint town of Ogg's Point rests on the rocky coast of Maine. Native Rutledge Raines left home eith no plans of returning, but years later he is drawn back to sell his late grandmother's house. He never imagined the mundane task would drop the annoying but sexy Peyton Morgan into his life. Being home forces him to remember why he left in the first placr because even small towns have secrets lurking in the shadows. When those demons are unleashed, Rut, Peyton and Ogg's Point will never be the same.

I love when a book is co-authored and if flows so seamsly you can not even tell who is writing one point. I have read a ton of L.A Fiore written boks but never a Anthony Dewayne but I did learn these two make amazing writing partners. Your gping to love Rutledge and Peyton. Their cbemistry will have you wondering if your kindles going to catch fire in your hands and their banter is equally amazing. This is a book filled with mysery and intrique and so freaking good. It was so much more than I expected snd will leave you wanting more.

That.Prologue.Was.Just.Wow!!! I knew then that I was going to be in for a ride that would have me in tears, yet I wasn't sure if I was ready for it.

Rutledge (Rut) was such a grumpy cocky a$$ and yet my heart still fell for him. He had been through hell & back and he didn't know if he was ever going to be the same Rut. Because of that he kept people at a distance and was an ass to everyone, except the ones he loved. The determination Peyton had to succeed had me rooting for her. I don't know if I would have been that brave if I were in Peyton's shoes.

Now let's get to the nitty gritty of things and talk about the chemistry that these two had. They had me turning on my ac and drinking a couple of cold colas :-) Peyton knew that there was so much potential to Rut, yet no matter how much she tried Rut was a hard nut to crack. The chemistry these two had, was off the charts. And Rut's bossy alpha side was deliciously hot!!!

This beautiful story had my emotions all over the place and I loved it!! Thank you L.A. Fiore for such a breathtaking story that was so deep and just amazing!! Kara~ 5 Breathtaking Stars

This is the 1st bk from the duo of L.A. Fiore and Anthony Dwayne. This story is a roller coaster ride of emotions- Hot and steamy, mystery and suspense, love and heartbreak, this story has it all. The chemistry between the main characters is literally off the charts intense; the warmth and wit from them is like being around good friends. I could not put this read down. There is enough mystery in the story to keep the reader guessing, and when just when you think you have it all figured out...BAM, you’re hit with a twist/turn in this story. I don't want to give any spoilers or anything away with this story. Just know Peyton and Rutledge are phenomenal main characters and are ones to be on the lookout for. L.A Fiore and Anthony Dwayne did an outstanding job with Unleashed. I can't wait to read what they co-write together next.

5 Stars🌟!!

This is my 1st book by L.A Fiore and also Anthony Dwayne. It was amazing!! Rutledge is the epitome of an Alpha Male! 🔥🔥

I fell in love with Peyton and Rutledge but most importantly Rutledge. Everything fell into place in the beginning of the book, it was all too good and the anticipation of the what if.. had me at the edge of my seat. The banter between the two and wittiness makes them such a great couple. Peyton was so understanding and patient with the whole situation with Rutledge deep inside she knew his demons were a lot stronger than she anticipated. Those demons will come to light and test their relationship.

If your into a dominate male with charm this book will not disappoint.

The Perfect Literary Dream Team

No one does damaged alpha bad boys like Anthony Dwayne. L.A. Fiore is a new Author for me and she rocked the sweet, adorable and sassy heroine. This book has an over abundance of emotions. I went from laughing, to crying to being so angry I wanted to cut off someone's appendage. Rutledge and Peyton are just what the other needed to make them whole and yes, someone in this book is more than good enough and "deserves" to be loved and the other to be loved protected and cherished. I hope the Authors add more books with the other characters they've introduced us to, maybe Coda, Max, Kinsley or Smitty? Oh and one of my favorite things about this book (and all I've read of Mr. Dwayne's) is that there is never any cheating once the H has been with the h. If you want a book that will bring you to your knee's in more ways than one, this book is for you

My favorite book of 2018! This was a first for both authors to co-write and I certainly hope it’s not the last. This story is a roller coaster of emotions. Hot and steamy, mystery, suspense, love, and heartbreak, this story has it all. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, the quick wit from them is like being around friends. I could not put this down. Enough mystery to keep you guessing, and when you think you have it figured out...BAM, you’re hit with a twist. Think you can figure out the secrets hidden in Ogg’s Point...think again. This story will have you laughing, squirming, crying, yelling at your Kindle and leave you craving more. This is a definite must read and I highly recommend it.

This is the first time these two Authors get together to write a book & after reading it, I want them to write more!

Unleashed is the perfect title to express how this book will make you feel after reading it.

It has it all with a beautifully written range of emotions that pour off the pages.

Full of suspense, mystery and off the charts hot chemistry of Peyton & Rutledge, I could not put the book down because I needed to know what was going to happen between these two characters.

This book left me fully satisfied and a new fan of Author Anthony Dwayne who I have not read before till now.

Go grab this book & become addicted to this romantic suspenseful story.

A Top 2018 Must Read!

I finished this book just ten minutes ago, and I’m just absolutely stunned. Another book that has touched my heart. Ever since I met L.A. Fiore with Savage, I fell in love with her work. Her books always manage to worm their way to my heart, and Unleashed is no exception. As for Anthony Dwayne, a very new author to me, this book has just encouraged me to look up his book and devour them. I never know what I’m going to get with L.A. Fiore’s books, but they always leave with a piece of my heart with them. I don’t think there will ever be a book that she (co)writes that will ever disappoint me.

Unleashed is a book that hooks you in from the very beginning. This story touches on some very strong topics, and these authors write it in such a poignant and breath-taking way, so much to the point where you physically want to exist in that book just so that you could hold them tight, support them, and just love them. The amount of emotion in this book is indescribable, it literally pulls you in and plays with your heart.

I absolutely loved Peyton and Rutledge. I loved their coming together, their strength and protectiveness over one another, and I loved the support and love that they showed one another when the other person was vulnerable. This story broke my heart in so many places, seeing these characters experience things no person should ever experience, and not wanting to fix that person, but to just be there for them, to help them through the pain and slow the demons that live inside their heads. Like I said before, the emotion in this novel is outstanding, and after you read this novel, you will not be able to let these two go. Lord knows I’m going through that motion right now.

I also loved the scenery in the novel. Even after reading such an intense scene, its nice to have the image of the cliff and the sea in your mind. Just like the characters, it calms you. You can picture what they are seeing and it brings you a certain sort of peace. I couldn’t help but imagine the beautiful landscapes, the house. I just fell in love with the place. Just as much as I fell in love with the characters, I fell in love with Ogg’s Point as well.

If these authors were to write another novel (which I am very much hoping they would) there would be no hesitation on my behalf to read it. These authors have the power to take you literally where you’ve never been before, and feel sad once the story’s over. It was a true pleasure reading this novel and experiencing not only the character’s journey together, but to witness the truly amazing talent these authors have. To say I loved this book is an understatement. I am living for this book, and no amount of stars will describe how much I love it.

I know L.A. Fiore's writing from her previous books, but for me, it's the first book I read in cooperation with Anthony Dwayne.‎

How can I define what I have read in this book? They both brought me to the threshold of crying, anger, ‎love.‎

Rutledge Raines is a sexy dominant masculine bossy figure But with a broken soul. he is dealing with his demons ‎from the past. On the one hand you come to smack him and on the other hand, you just want to hug him.‎

The disgusting and downright vile demons that lurked inside me taunted. you don't deserve anything. who would want you? who would want a damaged man? No One!

Peyton Morgan, an amazing figure, determined in her decisions. The audacity to do what she did, I do not know if ‎anyone can do, but I was proud of her. Peyton is a person who is attentive to what is happening around ‎her and especially when she meets Rutledge. she understands, does not press, gives him the time to open up.‎

Peyton and Ruth are two people who have experienced each of the pain at some point in their lives. And ‎the chemistry between this couple- amazing. There were texts that simply had tears in my ‎eyes, and the scenes Oh God, ‎I felt rush of butterflies, the goosebumps, tingles down the spine.

I wanted him. He wanted me too, but what I wasn't so sure about is if he wanted to want me.

In every chapter, I learned to know the characters. And what they are going through. Fiore and Anthony did not stop surprising me. The whole process you think you understand the direction but do not expect what is really in front of your eyes.

And Let us not forget the sub-figures in the book that I hope that perhaps this cooperation will give rise to ‎another book.‎

This book is so amazing. Warmly recommend. You'll fall in love the way I fell in love.‎
And for the finally, The chemistry between Fiori and Anthony, I have no words to describe.
If I could give ‎more than five stars, I would give all the stars in the sky.‎

Rutledge and Peyton - 5 Perfect stars

While I have read Anthony Dwayne's books before, L.A. Fiore is a new author to me. So sleek and flawless was their writing, that it was simply impossible to determine where one author stopped and the other started. What a wonderful story they have written together.

This story hooked me from the moment i started reading it. Who couldn't help but want to be best friends with Peyton Morgan. Peyton was simply gorgeous, both in looks and personality. She had a vulnerability about her, but she was also strong, smart and very sassy. Who would have thought that a drunken real estate buy in the internet would lead her to be knocked over by one very arrogant, dirty talking, alpha man, Rutledge Raines? He was a man who was constantly haunted by his past, a man who felt that he didn't deserve to be loved. Rut has finally found someone who fulfils all of his desires, but is his past going to rear its ugly head and ruin everything?

Fiore and Dwayne have written the perfect story. One that will force their readers to experience the full gamut of their emotions. Throw in a bit of suspense and mystery, some wonderful secondary characters, and some hot steamy scenes, and you'll find this is a story that is very hard to put down.

I can now only hope that Max and Kinsley and Coda and Laura get their own stories. This is definitely a highly recommended read.

I have been in love with Liz's writing for a while (she is well aware of this :-)) but I have never read anything from Anthony Dwayne before. I can honestly say I absolutely LOVED this book and the collaboration between them was simply flawless. Anthony Dwayne now has a new fan.

What a great start to a new series. The writing was flawless, with great pacing and characters. They dealt with some heavy issues in a brilliant way. They perfectly blended the tough bits with some humour spotted throughout

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down! how needs sleep anyway?!?!

Rutledge was the brooding sexy male that I normally love. He could make you swoon but could also make your blood boil with his typical maleness! Peyton was a sweetheart, so warm and caring, a beautiful contrast to Rutledge's brooding.

I don't want to say too much with my review as you need to experience this beauty for yourself.

I went into this story not really knowing what to expect, but I ended up really loving it apart from one thing. I do think that there was a little too much sex in this book if that's even possible! Rut is a bit of a manwhore before Peyton and after he meets her he is just a dirty bad boy, but it did get to the point that I did start skipping through the sex scenes as there is only so many times I wanted to read about him and his great sex techniques. Putting that aside it was a totally great story with a lot of plot twists, and even though they were a little bit predictable I still liked the build up and the conformation of my suspicions once things were revealed. I really liked Peyton's character, she is a really strong heroine. Rut's character is a little over controlling for me at times but I get where he was coming from most of the time so I gave him a thumbs up for being a little overprotective hero. Together as a couple they worked really well.
The story was well written and was easy to read, it kept me interested and excited to see what would happen next. I look forward to reading more from these two authors in the future.

Phew. This was intense. An amazing start to a new collaboration and a new series. A story and characters that grab you from the start and linger on your mind even after you finished reading. Memorable. Magically crazy. Wonderful.

Peyton was such a sweet and snarky heroine. Warm and open-hearted – and with that the total opposite to the hero. Because Rutledge … boy, was he distant and brooding. A tortured soul with jerk and caveman tendencies and a really, really foul mouth – just about the perfect mix to be my type of book boyfriend – even though I wanted to strangle him more than once. An alpha who has lots of demons to battle – demons that broke my heart. And on those rare occasions he turned on his charm and smexy … I was done for. Swoon!

Their first encounter was all but smooth – it was bumpy and kind of ugly, but once they started to turn up the heat things got … fiery and passionate. Peyton’s devotion for Rut, to help shoulder his burdens, her ability to be there for him and always know what he needed the most was the most beautiful thing in this whole story. A heroine with a heart of gold.

Throughout the whole story there is this underlying simmering tension and suspense to keep you on edge and have you devouring the book. I cannot wait for more!

Wow! Wow! F*cking Wow!!!! I am in Love with Rutledge and Peyton! It was a great two broken soles that were able to find love and happiness through some obstacles together. There were just so amazing parts through this book it’s hard to pin point my favorites. I love that there was just so much to keep you going in the book... sexy scenes with dominate guy, some fun banter between them even down to what Peyton wears, the love the town had for them even as a new comer, the live music with the purple suit was my favorite, all of the memories good and bad were as if you were there right when they were happening, then to move on to the drama with out killing the story Jack wow what a d*ck..Willy OMG no way... the shed had me in tears.. and finally thou who shall be nameless i feel like i wanted to jump into the pages and break his nose among other things. One of the best well written books i have read in a long time!!!! I am hoping that Coda and/or Kinsley get a book :) DEFIANTLY A MUsT READ!!!!
