Summary

Biography

2018 - Appeared in 47 and started 41 games at third base and as a designated player during her junior season...one of 12 lions to land on the MIAA Academic Honor roll (3.61 GPA)...fifth on the team in doubles (7)...knocked in 11 RBIs and scored seven runs from 30 hits and taking 37 total bases while striking out the least amount on the team (6)...produced four two-hit games for a season-best as well as three two-RBI games as well. 

2017 - Played and started in all 57 games for the Lions...one of six players to land on the MIAA Academic Honor roll...finished second on the team in doubles (11), tied for second in walks (18) and triples (2), and fifth in hits (56), RBIs (19), and home runs (2)...second on the team and seventh in the MIAA in plate appearances with 185...registered 10 multi-hit games with a season-high three hits in a 3-1 victory over Northeastern State (Apr. 24)...one of her two home runs came in the top of the second inning at Fort Hayes State to regain the lead for the Lions (2-1), and would eventually assist MSSU in 5-4 win (Mar. 30), while the other bomb came in a 7-4 victory over Southwestern Okla. (Feb. 3) at home. 

2016 - Caldarella played in and started all 55 games as a true freshman for Southern...batted .238 (35-for-147) at the dish with four doubles, two home runs, and 14 RBIs...her first career home run came in just her second at bat as a Lions with a two run shot to straight away center against Southwestern Oklahoma State at the Southeastern Oklahoma tournament...her second home run came in the 11-1 run rule win over Drury in game one of a double header in Springfield on March 1...Caldarella led the Lions in sacrifice hits with 11 during her freshman season.

Prior to Southern - comes to Southern from Kansas City, Missouri and Staley High School where she played the corner positions for Coach Tapp. She was a two time second team All-District and All-Conference selection for the Falcons during her junior and senior seasons. During those two years the Falcons won two conference titles and one district title as well. Ashley and her fellow seniors set the school record for most wins by a senior class.

Personal - Ashley is the daughter of Anthony and Laurie Caldarella and plans to major in education while at Southern.
