Subject: TABLE MOUNTAIN TRAILERS - SATURDAY 6 April 2024: Kalk Bay up to Silvermine via Clovelly

Hi Trailers

I hope that everyone is enjoying the long weekend! Next Saturday we do a gentle re-introduction to trail starting from Kalk Bay station parking.

Route

We'll start from Kalk Bay station parking and climb up the stairs to Boyes Drive. Here we turn left and run along the road to the Trappieskop trail. We follow this over the nek and down towards Clovelly turning left at the end to run along above the houses. This path comes out on the golf course road which we follow through to the small stone bridge where we turn left to join the path up from Sunbird centre. If you miss the stone bridge turning and run through to Sunbird, just follow the path up. We run along this path going up towards Dead Man's path. At the T junction we turn left and run towards the waterfall. Just before the stone bridge above the waterfall we turn right on to the Old Fisherman's trail and follow this through to the jeep track. We turn left for a short bit and then turn right on to the trail to Amphitheatre. We go down and through the Amphitheatre and turn left down Echo Valley to Weary Willy's and home.

Rendezvous and start time.

Meet at Kalk Bay station parking ready to run at 6h45am.

Terrain & Distance

Jeep track and single track.

Route is around 12km.

If you want to skip the amphitheatre and run on the jeep track round to Weary Willy's, it is about 14km but more runnable.

What to bring

Enough water for hot weather, appropriate clothes for possible misty, windy weather, whistlea space blanket and your ICE information

Please check the weather before you set off from home and pack the appropriate gear, water and food.

Please note that TMT unfortunately does not allow dogs on its runs.

  • Please carry emergency contact numbers in your bag or on your wrist/shoe
  • If you are not well, please stay at home
