Enable is a not-for-profit organisation, working in partnership with Wandsworth Council to deliver health, leisure and community services and events that enrich people’s lives. We go further, reinvesting any profit from our activities to make an even bigger difference, for you and your community.

Battersea Park Fireworks ticket sales help us raise funds to deliver Enable’s charitable mission of enriched lives through investment in supporting active lifestyles, community events, and the improvement of natural habitats.

Active Lifestyles

Enable delivers many programmes throughout the Borough to improve active lifestyles and ensure that all residents have access to facilities and programmes to get them moving in parks and outdoor spaces. These programmes range from funded holiday camps for young people to improving mobility for those with high BMI. Our Active Wellbeing programme, designed to improve mental and physical wellbeing of those with severe mental illness, reports increased wellbeing of 84% with an attendance rate of 98%. By creating community through activity we were able to get over 10,000 people moving in 2022.

Community Events

By utilising our specialist teams, each year Enable takes pride in bringing unique experiences to the Borough. Our talented tutors at the Putney School of Art and Design open their doors to a number of community groups, and we work closely with commercial partners to provide funded spaces to local events. Each year our events team deliver a summer-long programme of free enrichment activities in our parks, creating space for people of all ages to enjoy unique experiences such as holistic sound baths, arts classes, live theatre and more. By creating community through events we were able to invite over 15,000 people to our greenspaces this summer.

Natural Habitats

Wandsworth has one of the highest numbers of council-owned parks and greenspaces in inner London, culminating in over 300 hectares of public greenspace. Each greenspace has its own unique character and they all provide the opportunity for a range of different activities. Enable are proud to work in partnership with the Council to support these thriving parks and commons. Our trees, biodiversity, and operational teams work in tandem to ensure the Borough’s greenspaces create urban harmony for our residents and in the past year have won 5 Green Flag Awards plus 2 ‘London in Bloom’ Awards for Wandsworth and Tooting Commons. Our trees team were proud to complete the planting of 700 new trees in the past year alone.

This year we’ll be working in partnership with Wandsworth Council to gift 5,000 Battersea Park Fireworks tickets. These will go to our local children’s services, emergency service staff and charity and community groups. Wandsworth charities can apply for free tickets for their staff teams.
