The Great British Spring Clean is back!
Returning for its ninth year, the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental ‘clean-up' urges residents across the UK to join the battle to clean the places and spaces we love.
Hounslow needs its own Hounslow #LitterHeroes to help keep us green and clean.
Running from Friday 15 March until Sunday 31 March 2024, this year we are spreading the word that the environment belongs to everyone!
Keep Britain Tidy is celebrating its 70th Year of protecting the environment – You could even set yourself a fun #PlatinumPledge challenge to mark the anniversary such as picking 70 items, spending 70 minutes in nature litter-picking – or, if you feel ambitious, picking 70 bags!
How to get involved
Hosting your own event
Residents can host their own event (such as cleaning up a park or local street) by signing up on the Great British Spring Clean webpage. This can be done with a group of your family or friends.
If you would like to host your own event, follow the next steps:
Pledge to Pick
1. Pledge to pick up as much litter as you can during the campaign. Whether you aim to pick up one bag or 50, you can pledge to:
2. Let us know what you’re planning by emailing us on cleaner.greener@hounslow.gov.uk with the following details:
- Your name, organisation or community group (if applicable) and a contact number
- Date and location of litter pick
- Number of participants (so we know how many litter pickers to lend you)
- A delivery address for litter pickers and bags
- Whether you would like to arrange a collection for your bagged rubbish
We will reply with confirmation of your event and issue further guidance.
