Story
During these exceptionally difficult and uncertain times, the RVC Women's Rugby Team wanted to raise money for a good cause, so that in our own small way we'd be able to help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Within our team we have some very hardcore England and Wales supporters, so we thought what better way to honour the lost rugby season than to challenge ourselves to run, cycle or walk the 230km between the homes of English and Welsh rugby - Twickenham in London, and The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.
Over the weekend of the 6th of June, come rain or shine, the team will be out raising money for a fantastic cause, and as a bonus, getting fit for next season! We have decided to support the domestic abuse charity Refuge.
One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.
By kindly sponsoring us today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence. Thank you.
