profile

I navigate a diverse artistic practice that embraces a passion for both sculptural objects and socially engaged projects. In 2016 I was selected as the West Texas Triangle artist with sculpture exhibitions at four museums along with a new community project commissioned for The Grace Museum in Abilene. Working in collaboration with International Rescue Committee-Abilene and Jerolyn Bahm-Colombik, the project examined the significant contributions that the resettlement community (families from Congo and Nepal) were having upon the social and cultural fabric of Abilene. I have also collaborated with young artists and students on projects in Burma, Romania, Armenia and Republic of Georgia. I live in the Texas Hill Country with my wife and artistic collaborator, Jerolyn. Together we have composed several outdoor commissioned sculptures in Texas. I am entering the thirty-year mark of teaching sculpture at Texas State University in San Marcos.
