Shareefa Energy is a poet, performer, writer, author, activist, educator, creative campaigner, workshop facilitator and arts and wellbeing practitioner of Indian and Muslim heritage from Leicester and London. She is the author of poetry collection Galaxy Walk. Her poetry is raw, honest and consistent against injustice. She was awarded with the UK Entertainment Best Poet 2017 Award, a nominee for the Muslim Women Arts & Entertainment Awards 2021 and for the Eastern Eye Arts, Culture & Theatre 2019 award by the Arts Council. 

Her poetry has featured on BBC The One Show, Channel 4 and ITV. She has facilitated creative writing, poetry, storytelling and performance workshops internationally, from Palestine to Sierra Leone with schools, universities, academics, in immigration detention centres, with survivors of domestic violence and with those impacted by state violence. She has worked on various commissions for campaigns to raise awareness on injustice and demand change. She was commissioned to create the Apples and Snakes National Poetry Day 2020 poem and visual for the theme ´Vision.´
 

 Shareefa was the lead facilitator for the 2023 Wowsers programme, working with the Brixton Youth Theatre and performed alongside the young people for The Wow Festival 2023 at The Royal Festival Hall.  She was lead facilitator for The Freedom Theatre's first Feminist Theatre Festival 2022 in the West Bank and was lead facilitator and performed. Shareefa's performed at Poetry Meets Hip Hop in Berlin, the Verve Festival and The Flamenco Festival 2019.  She was artist in residence at North Kensington Library for the Apples and Snakes Spine Festival 2018 and 2019. She released her spoken word neo-soul jazz EP 'Reasoning with Self' with composers Meandou in 2015.

Shareefa has worked on several poetry commissions for companies and campaigns to support brands and organisations to deliver their message profoundly.

She graduated with a BA International Relations and Politics degree at University of Westminster in 2013.
