SHIJIAZHUANG, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Archaeologists have recently discovered an ancient tomb in north China's Hebei Province that dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), local authorities said.
The tomb, found in Qinghe County, is 2.75 meters long, 2.3 meters wide and 1.5 meters tall, with two stone coffins containing a husband and wife, according to the local cultural relics protection department.
Archaeologists also unearthed a bronze hairpin, a porcelain pot and two jars with black glaze, whereby they confirmed the date of the tomb according to the style, color and other details of the objects.
The tomb and its contents provide insight into the study of funeral customs and culture during the Ming Dynasty, and reflect the history and local culture in Qinghe, said Hou Shu'e, an official with Qinghe's cultural relics protection department. Enditem
