Paediatric First Aid 2-day

The Paediatric First Aid training course is designed for people caring for children in any organisation setting. It is suitable for au pairs, nannies, childminders, school staff, nursery and pre-school workers, sport and leisure staff, crèche leaders, parents and anyone responsible for the welfare of children. In order to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises, and available at all times when children are present, and must accompany children on outings. Childminders and any assistants, who might be in sole charge of the children for any period of time, must hold a current paediatric first aid certificate. This course is highly interactive and will require delegates to participate over the two days. In order to be awarded the certificate of attendance, delegates must stay for the duration of the course and exhibit that they have achieved the required learning.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Course (Kingston)

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact or support young people (aged 8-18) including teachers, school staff, school nurses, youth centre workers etc. The course is aimed at training the adults in a young person’s life to have the skills and confidence to step in, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, they can speed up a young person’s recovery, stop issues from developing into a crisis, and ultimately save lives.

Bouncing Back: Supporting Resilience in Practitioners

Resilience is the ability to manage stress, to cope positively and keep going through tough times, to bounce back from adversity and achieve despite challenging conditions. It is a set of skills that are very much needed in the workplace and more generally in the 21st century, where uncertainty and impermanence have come to define so much in our lives. Being resilient is also positively associated with happiness. This training day is intended to help practitioners to develop and sustain their own resilience. The day will include a mixture of presentations of theory and concepts and self-reflective and experiential exercises in small groups.

KRSCP Safeguarding Children: Child Protection Process Level 3 - Refresher

This course is for staff who have previously completed Level 2 and Level 3 safeguarding courses and are required to refresh their knowledge and skills. This training session will refresh understanding delegates about the processes involved with child protection procedures, including statutory assessment. It is expected that all those who work predominantly with children, young people and/or carers who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns. As a consequence practitioners need to ensure that their knowledge and skills are regularly kept up to date. It is recommended that designated safeguarding leads within schools refresh their Level 3 knowledge every two years and other organisations it is anticipated colleagues update their level 3 every three years. This course will start promptly at the identified start time. Due to the nature of the content on this course anyone arriving late will be refused entry and will still be charged. Attendance is required for the full duration of the course, otherwise a certificate of attendance will not be provided. Please note this is an online course and a joining instructions will be sent to you prior to the course start time. We recommend that all delegates login to the session in plenty of time to avoid any technical delays.

Safeguarding Children: Child Protection Process Level 3 (Windsor and Maidenhead)

This training session will provide delegates with more information about the processes involved with child protection procedures, including statutory assessment. Under the Children Act 1989, local authorities are required to provide services for children in need for the purposes of safeguarding and promoting their welfare. Local authorities undertake assessments of the needs of individual children to determine which services to provide and what action to take. This course is multi-agency and designed for members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/ or their parents/carers and who potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns. It is recommended that designated safeguarding leads within all organisations attend this course. It is the responsibility of the designated safeguarding leads (DSL) to coordinate the response to safeguarding concerns within their organisation, and to support others in doing so, therefore this course will ensure DSLs are well equipped to meet their statutory responsibilities.
