2022 Edition – Beyond the Library Collections. We don’t have it? Here it is!

No library can buy or hold everything its patrons need. At a certain point, librarians need to pool their resources and collaborate to provide access to what they don’t have.

The 2022 edition of the Erasmus Mobility Staff Training week organized by the University of Liège Library will focus on services, projects and policies that libraries can deploy and promote to increase and ease access to materials that do not belong to their print or electronic holdings. The Week’s theme will be: Beyond the Library Collections. We don’t have it? Here it is!

To further the exchange of experience and ideas, the number of participants in the week is limited. Candidates were strongly encouraged to take an active part in the week by submitting a paper for a session.

Suggested topics for the workshops:

  1. Centralized and shared collection storage with other libraries
  2. Long term loan projects between libraries
  3. Extensions and services like Unpaywall, Open Access Helper, OA Button: usage and promotion
  4. Print on demand services for patrons
  5. Document delivery during/post Covid-19
  6. Challenges and impacts of new interlibrary loan policies and workflows
  7. From fee to free
  8. ILL and its impact on acquisitions policy
  9. Interfacing solutions for better document delivery
  10. Legal aspects: Controlled Digital Lending (CDL), DRM, licenses, copyright…
  11. New and improved workflows in document delivery and ILL services
  12. New partnerships and collaborations between libraries for better delivery and ILL services
