Lockdown Lights

Lockdown Lights
UCL Culture brings you a mini-series of virtual events to lift your spirits and explore the emotions and experiences we’re all missing during lockdown. Meet some of UCL’s most innovative researchers, get stuck into a creative activity and enjoy our soundtrack by resident DJ, artist and raconteur, Richard DeDomenici.

Discovering the Potential of Your Voice
What is it about not always liking the sound of our own voice? How do we describe other people’s voices? What’s the difference between a singing voice and a speaking voice?

Delve into the fascinating world of sound and learn more about the power of the human voice with UCL researcher Dr Evangelos Himonides and composer Hannah Conway who will lead an interactive workshop exploring our very own instrument. Our resident DJ Richard DeDomenici will spin tracks to set the scene and compliment the activities.
