    Asia House launches COP26 Programme

    Published On: 8 February 2021

Asia House is running a series of initiatives to explore key policy developments and business responses to climate change in the lead up to COP26 in the UK in November.

Through private briefings and public conferences, the Asia House COP26 Programme brings together senior decision-makers from business and government to discuss the key issues around sustainability and climate change. The programme is supported by research and analysis from the Asia House Advisory team in the UK and in Asia.

The programme has a particular focus on Asia, providing a platform for voices from the region to share their views, concerns and challenges around the COP26 agenda, both before and beyond the Glasgow conference.

The Asia House COP26 Programme has already hosted COP26 President Alok Sharma, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Ken O’Flaherty, COP26 Regional Ambassador to Asia-Pacific and South Asia, and Preety Bhandari, Chief of Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management, ADB.

The programme has also seen Alue Dohong, Deputy Minister for the Environment and Forestry, Indonesia; the UK’s COP26 Envoy, John Murton; and the Saudi Ambassador to the UK HRH Prince Khalid Bin Bandar Bin Sultan brief Corporate Members.

Asia House is also leveraging its global network to convene working groups on this critical issue to help inform policymakers and provide practical solutions to shared challenges.

The Asia House COP26 Programme also offers an opportunity for organisations that are actively addressing climate change to raise awareness of their initiatives and position themselves in this important global discussion.
