Over the last three months the music industry has output a litany of unique livestream performances, all coming from a variety of different artists and genres. However, as it pertains to the rock and metal communities, Trivium happen to be the latest metal heavyweights that are upping the ante with livestream concerts.

Similar to metal’s Code Orange and Suicide Silence, Trivium have planned an ambitious pro-shot and ticketed global livestream concert, which is set for this Friday, July 10th. What’s especially noteworthy about this livestream is Trivium are holding the event at Full Sail University, which happens to be in the band’s hometown of Orlando, Florida. Trivium and Full Sail University have collaborated together a number of times in the past, and the band’s latest record, What The Dead Men Say (April 2020), was actually recorded at the University.

"Full Sail is a school where music, gaming, film, tv, and innovation all intersect and converge into one amazing campus. Graduates of Full Sail have gone on to work at Blizzard, Epic; work on Game Of Thrones, or with Metallica; several alumni have worked on Call Of Duty Modern Warfare and Doom,” says Trivium frontman Matt Heafy.

“Befriending the Full Sail team, I’ve been able to help them open their Esports arena and compete at Fortnite there, do panels for students, and most importantly — record the new Trivium album in their world-class studio. Being able to now do the biggest and best streamed show on Earth — in the very same room that WWE NXT is filmed in — on Full Sail campus - again shows the perfect duo between Full Sail and Trivium."

Trivium’s Matt Heafy in large respects has been the torchbearer for metal and live-streaming. He was the first metal figure to bring the culture of Twitch streaming to the metal community, and ever since, his own twitch channel has seen a massive surge in viewers and subscribers over the last three years. Furthermore, Heafy’s music covers showcased on his Twitch channel, namely the Witcher theme “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher,” has lead the singer to landing a solo deal with Roadrunner Records.

Trivium’s livestream concert is slated for this Friday, July 10th at 4pm ET, and it will mark the band’s first performance since the release of their new album, What The Dead Men Say. Tickets for the event are listed at $9, and the show will also feature the opener, Sylosis, who are undoubtedly one of metal’s most underrated acts of the last decade.
