Responsible for planning and implementation of operations, administration, and partnerships in support of key strategic growth initiatives.

Madeleine Braun, Ph.D., MBA, is the vice president for growth initiatives, in which she is responsible for planning and implementation of operations, administration, and partnerships in support of key strategic growth initiatives. Madeleine works closely with executive leaders to develop strategy and financial plans, establish new capabilities, refine operational services, expand portfolios and partnerships, and support communications and philanthropic efforts. Her current focus is on the Rare Disease Translational Center, and partnering with Cat Lutz, Ph.D., MBA, on scaling its initiatives.

Braun’s former leadership positions at JAX include serving as chief of presidential initiatives; chief information officer; senior director, genotyping and reproductive sciences; business unit manager for breeding services; and product development manager.

Prior to joining JAX in 2007, Braun held scientist positions in biotechnology advancing cancer vaccines and immunotherapeutics at Corixa Corporation and at Seattle Genetics. Braun holds a BA in biological sciences from Cornell University, a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Washington, Seattle, and an MBA with advanced study in healthcare from the Yale School of Management.
