Admission tickets

You no longer need to book tickets before visiting Cadw’s historic places, however some of our larger castles and historic houses will continue to offer online tickets.

To book your tickets in advance:

  • visit our Find a Place to Visit page
  • select your chosen monument
  • select Prices & Tickets
  • click Book Admission

(please note: pre-booked tickets cannot be refunded).

Cadw events

All Cadw events charging standard admission prices and taking place within standard opening hours do not require pre-booking, all admission tickets can be purchased on arrival.

(The only exception is Castell Coch, due to the limited space in some of the castle rooms, pre-booking tickets for Castell Coch events is essential).

Visit our Find a Cadw event page for a full list of Cadw events.

If Cadw events require tickets for additional chargeable activities and/or evening and special events, all details will be displayed on individual event pages in the What’s On area.

(please note: pre-booked tickets cannot be refunded).

Find a place to visit

We care for 131 historic sites around Wales, many of which are open and free to visit.

Please check individual site pages for our latest opening times and facilities (some of our admission charging sites close during the winter period).

Due to the nature of some of our monuments, we may need to close sites at short notice in poor weather conditions.

If you are planning to visit in bad weather, please check our social media channels or call our team before visiting to check the monument is open and safe to visit.

If you have questions about your visit please call our customer services team on: 03000 252239 or email us at: cadw@tfw.wales
