Legacy CleanWell® Brand Product Information

CleanWell, LLC no longer produces any CleanWell® branded products for retail sale. This includes Botanical Disinfectants, and the previously discontinued Hand Sanitizers, and Foaming Hand Soaps. Please consider switching to Seventh Generation® Disinfectants to replace your favorite CleanWell Botanical Disinfecting product. We have a long-standing partnership and will continue producing their botanical disinfecting household cleaners with the same 0.05% Thymol active ingredient you know from our products. Look for the “CleanWell Inside” logo on their sprays and wipes.

Do your products have an expiration date?

The EPA does not require an expiration date to be printed on our Disinfecting Cleaners and Wipes. However, the general rule of thumb for our products is a 2-year shelf life.

The date of manufacture is included in the lot code stamped on each product during production. The day expressed in Julian date, the 3-digit representation of the day of the year. The year is expressed as the last one or last two digit of the year.

The date appears at the end of the code that starts with “D” and is in day then year order.
Day = 43rd day of the year, which is Feb 12
Year = 1, which is 2021

Disinfectant Cleaners – 20273 D######
The date appears at the beginning of the code and is in year then day order.

Please contact CleanWell customer service for help in reading the date from the lot code or any other questions related to product expirations.

What should I do if a CleanWell product is swallowed or gets in eyes?

You should expect a reaction similar to that of interaction with a very mild soap. If a quantity is ingested, then drink water to flush the system. In the unlikely event that ingestion causes physical distress, please contact your physician. For accidental contact with the eyes, you can flush with cool, clear water. Always use product as directed on the label.

Are CleanWell disinfectants safe to use around kids?

Our ingredients are GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the FDA. The ingredients are also on the FDA’s Food Additive List. Disinfectant residue left on a surface would pose minimal threat.

The EPA classifies CleanWell’s Thymol, the active ingredient in our disinfecting products, within its lowest toxicity rating category. This means CleanWell doesn’t require a safety warning on the label or rinsing after use.

Always use product as directed on the label. Individuals with sensitivity to certain compounds should always consult a physician before using a new product or when experiencing any adverse reaction. Adverse reactions are extremely rare, but if one occurs, then stop use and consult a doctor.

Do your products contain any animal products or by-products?

Our products do not contain any animal products or by-products. They are certified cruelty free and vegan by PETA.

Are your products gluten free?

Though our formulas do not contain ingredients with gluten, our products are manufactured on shared equipment which may process items containing gluten. It is possible for a trace amount of gluten to appear in our products.
