NEW DELHI - The passage of a religion-specific immigration Bill by India's Parliament is seen as a turning point for the country, with many arguing that it runs contrary to the secular Constitution that ensures equality for all religions.
The Citizenship Amendment Bill cleared Parliament on Wednesday (Dec 11) with a majority in the Upper House and now goes to the President for assent before becoming law.
