HPE’s Nimble Storage dHCI – “Best of VMworld 2020” award winner
HPE’s Nimble Storage dHCI is TechTarget’s 2020 ‘Best of VMworld’ winner in the Virtualisation, Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps category.
It was time to overcome the architectural limitations that prevent HCI from supporting your more demanding apps and mixed workloads. It was time to extend the HCI experience to all your apps. So we made a new HCI. HCI 2.0, now recognized as one of the most outstanding products at VMware's annual user conference.
TechTarget explains, “The Virtualization, Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps category encompasses a broad range of products. These products enable organizations to build virtual infrastructures, manage or virtualize essential hardware, and aid operations teams to deploy VM-based applications both on premises and in the cloud.”
What the judges said
"Nimble dHCI turns your current servers into an enterprise [hyper-converged infrastructure] solution, including automation and single-pane-of-glass management." Read more here.
And that’s not all
This second generation of HCI brings together the best of HCI and converged architectures, allowing truly independent scaling of compute and storage. The result for users is less downtime because there are no bottlenecks in network traffic, and no lags in performance. In addition, more demanding apps and mixed workloads can be consolidated, delivering better outcomes. Watch demo
Disaggregated scaling means efficiency with no more costly overprovisioning. HCI 2.0 achieves a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by scaling compute and storage independently, along with a lower entry cost. You don't need to add unnecessary hardware to achieve resilience, since it fully utilises the resources you already have.

VMworld is a US-based conference for virtualisation and cloud computing, hosted by VMware. It is the largest virtualisation-specific event and has been held since 2004.
