ServiceNow Now Mobile App

 

The ServiceNow Now Mobile app (called 'Now Mobile') gives you the ServiceNow experience in your hands. With the app, you can:

Downloading the App

The Now Mobile app is available on both Android (minimum version 8) and iOS devices (minimum version 13) for mobile and tablet use. For more information on specific devices, click here and view Mobile tested devices.  In order to download the app to your device, see below guide.

 

Android

> Click on the Play Store app on your device, search for Now Mobile and press 'Install'

iOS

> Open the App Store on your device, search for Now Mobile and click 'Get' to install it on your device.

 

 

Setting Up the App

> Then you'll need to open the app and enter the address of the Coventry University ServiceNow system (Enter the instance address). See below for details:

 

Android

>Press the plus button to start the process of connecting the app to the Coventry University ServiceNow system.

Then either:

Enter the address of the Coventry University system on the app, by typing coventryuniversity.service-now.com into the instance address field. You can also put in just coventryuniversity and the app will complete the instance address with .service-now.com.

 

Or you can also scan the below QR code which will enter the instance address for you.

> Next press Save and Log in and it will save your Now Mobile instance and prompt you to login with your Coventry University email and password.  

 

iOS

On iOS you will get a welcome screen that will prompt you to connect the app to the Coventry University ServiceNow system.

> Enter the address of the Coventry University system on the app, by typing coventryuniversity.service-now.com into the instance address field. You can also put in just coventryuniversity and the app will complete the instance address with .service-now.com.

 

You also have the option to enter a nickname, this can be anything you like and will appear as the display title of you instance when you open the app.

 

> Next press Save and Log in and it will save your Now Mobile instance and prompt you to login with your Coventry University email and password.

 

Key Features - Using your Phone Camera with the App

One of the key features of the Now Mobile App is the ability to be able to use your phone camera to take pictures which can be instantly uploaded to your IT support ticket. See below guide on this feature

> Below I will show you how to use your phone camera with the app in regards to creating a new IT ticket and updating an existing ticket.

New Ticket

> First from mobile app home navigate to the services tab using the navigation bar.

> Then on the Service page choose Raise a Ticket.

> Find the correct form which best matches your issue, such as the 'Report an IT Fault' below.

> Complete the form as required.

> Press the attachment button and you will be presented with the below options. Take Photo will bring up your camera App where you can take a live photo and upload it to the ticket, open gallery will bring up your phone gallery and you can select an image from your camera roll to add as an attachment.

Existing Ticket

> To add a photo or an image to an existing ticket. Navigate to the ticket through the My Tickets screen and then click the updates tab. On this screen next to Add Comment, you have buttons to access your camera to take a live photo and the option to access your phones gallery to upload an image.
