DC Greens is looking for a dedicated team of Farmers' Market Brigade Volunteer Leaders!
Volunteer Leaders will help lead Farmers’ Market Brigade (FMB) volunteers to distribute Produce Plus checks at DC farmers' markets. Each Volunteer Leader will be assigned to a market from June - September for weekly volunteer shifts.
Volunteer Leaders will also support with volunteer recruitment, troubleshoot Produce Plus tablets and technology (training provided), foster a supportive, positive and communicative teamwork environment, and treat all customers, volunteers and market staff with respect and kindness.
This volunteer role will receive additional training in order to best support Farmers’ Market Brigade volunteers, Farmers' Market Managers and Produce Plus customers. This is a great role for someone who already knows a lot about Produce Plus and farmers’ markets in DC, and who wants to take on a leadership role in their community.
While this is an unpaid role, Volunteer Leaders will receive a DC Greens t-shirt and transportation benefits to cover the cost of travel between markets as thanks for your support. Income-eligible Volunteer Leaders are guaranteed Produce Plus checks at up to two volunteer market shifts per week. A volunteer celebration event also takes place at the end of the season with awards, food and more!
