Enzymes play key roles in the cellular physiology and they have been exploited in biotechnology since decades. However, the advent of high-throughput screening methods, cheap deep-sequencing technologies, and efficient data mining tools on one side and molecular dynamics predictions and protein engineering methods on the other, allows to exploit natural biodiversity and enzyme catalysis for the novel applications.

 

This School aim is to present the state-of-art and discuss advancements in the field of enzyme discovery and engineering with special focus on studies that allowed significant achievements in biotechnological applications.

The School, organized by the SIB BIOTECHNOLOGY GROUP, is addressed to Ph.D. students, postdocs and researchers younger than 35 having basic knowledge of biochemistry and enzymology. 

The number of participants will be limited to 35.
