The Dragon and the Dreamwalker (Elemental Magick Book 1) Kindle Edition
★ He's a Pendragon. She's an Elemental of Fire. ★
The Dragon:
Drake Pendragon saves Brynn-Riletta from being sacrificed to the dragon of Lornoon. He is shocked to see that fire does not harm her, and realizes she must be the Lady of Fire that the villagers fear and call a witch. She is just the person he needs to help him achieve his goal, because he plans on slaying the dragon.
The Dreamwalker:
Brynn is half fae, and half human - an elemental of fire. While she gets her strength from fire, water weakens her and can destroy her. She tries to save the virgins of the village including herself from the beast, but things don't go as planned. Instead, she finds herself tied to a stake, being sacrificed to the dragon atop a high cliff. A heroic knight saves her, but once she realizes he is the man they call the Dragon's Son, she is horrified. He and his men have stormed her castle and killed her parents.
Enemies by day, these two are passionate lovers by night. But only when Brynn dreamwalks and meets Drake's spirit form in a place he won't remember in the morning.
Can two feared people work together to destroy the beast before it is too late? Or will they be stopped by something that is even more frightening than a simple dragon?

Editorial Reviews
Review
- There aren't many stories that move me quite like this one did but I was literally moved to tears during the struggle between good and evil. The lengths that each of the lead characters went to save the other was extraordinary and would rarely happen. That, in my opinion, is the true definition of love. If I could give this one more than 5 stars, I would. - Amazon Review
- This book is a great story with dragons and dreamwalking and other exciting things brought to life. I highly enjoyed it and was completely wrapped up from page one. I'm excited to begin the next book in this series! - Amazon UK Review
- Lots of magical stories use the magic as a way around having to plot out a good story line and rescue the characters when the author can't devise a way. Not this one. It is well and true throughout, with magic limited and characters flawed but believable. - Amazon Review
- This is another entertaining read from Elizabeth Rose. She delights in creating interesting but imperfect characters that are entertaining and totally unpredictable. Every time I thought I knew where the story was headed, it took a 90 degree turn and left me guessing again. The ending was definitely a surprise and worth the journey to get there. - Amazon Review
- I really liked this story. If you like castles, dragon slaying, the Pendragon legends and elemental fae all mixed in a romantic adventure, you'll like this story. I loved the fire elemental angle and can't wait to read the next elemental story. - Goodreads Review
- This book has everything - anger, revenge, deception, suspicion, magic, love and humour. - Goodreads Review
- Brynn is an extremely strong-willed heroine, and her defiance is both empowering and humorous. - InD'tale Magazine
- This was a well written, easy to read story that keeps you engaged and entertained. The interaction between the characters is fun to read and magical qualities of this story helps build a delightful tale. - Goodreads Review
- Fun, scary, exciting, tense, frustrating, and a bit sensual. All wrapped up for a hard-to-put-down story! There is always hope so long as there is breath. - Amazon Review
- Well written. Great version of the Pendragons. Interesting story and characters. The astral traveling and the dragons...so many little touches that make this story so cool. Highly recommend. - Amazon Review
- A story forged in fire and love. Drake and Brynn fight not only each other but themselves as well. They both have to overcome their feelings of anger and vengeance to be able to destroy the Dragon that can kill them. Asad definitely is a bright spot in the story and deserves his own story. - Amazon Review
- (Author's Note: Asad has his own story in The Sheik and the Siren)

Action, adventure, drama, betrayal, and treachery abound in this one, but it is the characters that draw you in and keep your attention. Brynn is fae and human. She is an elemental; fire is her strength. Her story of the history and evolution of the elemental fae is fascinating. Her second power, dreamwalking (astral projection), is instrumental in coming to know her husband and finding a way to defeat the dragon. Drake has a dark and painful past that is responsible for his quest to destroy Dracos. Stubborn and angry, it takes a while for him to understand how and why he is connected to Dracos, and what he must do to win this battle. These two are not alone. Drake’s squire Asad is on hand to protect him and give him advice about romance. Birdie, Brynn’s maid, tries to help and take care of her. Her inability to keep a secret both helps and hinders. These two add a good bit of humor to the story. Juturna, seer and healer, tends their wounds and nudges them toward the answers they seek. I recommend this compelling story with rambunctious characters. This is the first in the series and I look forward to meeting Brynn’s friends.
The Dragon and the Dreamwalker is the perfect beginning for The Elemental Series by Elizabeth Rose. The dreamwalker is Brynn, who as part fairy and part human can leaver her sleeping body and move about undetected by others. Her human blood has weakened her fairy blood and thus diminished her powers but as an Elemental fae, fire is her greatest friend. She controls it and gains her power and strength from flame that would burn others to ash but she remains unharmed. Contrarily, water saps her strength and can kill her with prolonged contact. The townspeople call her the Lady of Fire and think her a witch. Wishing to be rid of her, they try to sacrifice her to the marauding dragon Dracus who demands virgin sacrifices. Drake of Dunsbard arrives in the nick of time to rescue the fair maiden from the dragon's fury. Sounds like instant romance all wrapped up with a pretty bow but love never comes that easily in an Elizabeth Rose novel. The first of many complications is that Drake apparently led the attack by the murderous Klarens on Brynn's father's castle. Both her parents Lord and Lady Thorndale are killed in the attack and Drake is now living as the Lord of the castle in place of Brynn's father. Prophecy says that Brynn and Drake must work together as one to defeat the Dracus but that's hard to do when they can't even look at each other before the sparks start to fly. This is another entertaining read from Elizabeth Rose. She delights in creating interesting but imperfect characters that are entertaining and totally unpredictable. Every time I thought I knew where the story was headed, it took a 90 degree turn and left me guessing again. The ending was definitely a surprise and worth the journey to get there..
