Blood Fury MC #1

Blood & Bones: Trip

Rate this book
Despite spilled blood and broken bones, from the ashes Blood Fury will once again rise.

Trip, son of the former president of the Blood Fury MC, is determined to resurrect his dead father's destroyed club. It’ll be a long, difficult road as the new president attempts to rebuild the club from the cold ashes left behind.

Bad blood and bitter memories are only some of the obstacles Trip has to overcome. The local police department, Manning Grove PD, is another, since they don’t want to see their small town once again overrun by outlaw bikers.

Then there’s Stella, a local bar owner and a major distraction Trip doesn’t need, but can’t resist, even though she gives him every reason to. She’s tough, she’s broken, and the last thing she wants in her life is a man like him.

In the end, Trip has to decide if the war is worth fighting. And if Stella is the warrior he needs battling by his side.

Blood & Bones: Trip is the first book in the Blood Fury MC series. As always, this book has no cheating, no cliffhanger and has an HEA. While it’s recommended to read my Brothers in Blue series first, it’s not necessary.

If he kissed her, she was kneeing him in the nuts.

This was an interesting start to a new series. I liked how Trip was building his fathers old and imploded MC back from nothing. But the romance was a bit underwhelming due to the massive amounts of internal dialogue. There was so much baggage between the two that I got bored reading about the same stuff over and over, and started skimming looking for actual dialogue and interactions between the two that would build their relationship.

There’s a lot of push/pull here, it’s annoying but unfortunately also understandable. Trip is a bulldozer. Stella is a broken woman. She had a small amount of grit but was crumbling under the weight of devastating loss. So he steamrolls her again and again until he wears her down. Don’t get me wrong, there’s some nice moments throughout but Trip is a bit of an alpha-arsehole who doesn’t explain himself for a lot of this.

This series continues with other characters. I’ll probably continue on with it at some point because there’s a few interesting secondary characters who have a lot of old hurts having the MC resurrected brings to the fore. In the end I liked Stella and Trip, just not the repetitive filler.
“What’s mine? If you take it all, what’s left for me?”
Without even the slightest hesitation, he said, “Me, baby. You got me. You can have all of me.”

I don’t read a lot of MC books because I don’t like some of the ins and outs of MC life. But something about the way this author delivers a story sucks me in, each and every time.

What a great first book to start a series, I loved Trip I loved that he has a clear picture of what he wants and what he doesn’t. He isn’t willing to budge on it.

Stella I think surprised him, don’t think he thought he would fall the way he did. Nor she for him it was fun to listen to. I very much think he is helping her heal and that is special, because that kind of loss that kind of pain needs to be released. It will never be forgotten but released and heals yes.

Can’t wait to listen to more of this series!
Please tell me we get more of the hairstylist and his boyfriend, because that was an awesome scene I want more.

Very much enjoyed the narration, I am a huge fan of Ava she is fantastic and J.F. was a perfect Trip!

This book was way too slow on the uptake. This may be because it’s the first book in a new series, but by 38%, I just found I didn’t like any of the characters. Trip and Stella’s first sexual connection was disturbing, and opened the door to a rocky relationship ahead. I wasn’t really interested in the destined dysfunction developing. Also,I, particularly, detested Trip’s brother, Sig, and after their reunification scene, I gave up on the book. Sig is beyond redemption, and I was disgusted by him, entirely. When Trip left the invitation open for him to enter the MC club, he was rebuilding, I stopped reading. I just couldn’t relate to the characters, and had no interest in their stories unfolding.

This is not your usual MC book. Instead Trip is resurrecting an old club, but wanting to make it better. Get rid of all the things that made it implode in the first place, to have it be about family and brotherhood, while still being legal. What makes it more interesting is he's doing this with the "kids" like himself that grew up in the old "bad" club. The amount of skepticism is huge. They all remember the bad and it was really bad at the end. Trip slowly wins them over, including the girl who said she was going to marry him at 11, that he hurt due to being stupid. I think they all have a rough road ahead of them, but it will be fun to see them succeed on all levels.

Firstly, I loved this book. Trip has decided to resurrect his father's old MC. This is going to be a daunting task because there's a lot of bad blood and bitter memories for many. After seeing the brotherhood/family that the Dirty Angels MC has he wants to build something just as strong. I admire Trip for having the determination to come back and rebuild something that was so broken it shattered families and friendships. One thing Trip didn't plan on was falling for Stella. As the daughter of an Original, Stella was born into the lifestyle and would make the perfect Ol Lady. Only Stella doesn't want to have anything to do with the bad boy biker who stomped on her heart twenty years ago. Can Trip make her see he wants something real with her? Will he be able to get the MC to flourish and mend the mistakes of the past? You'll have to read it to find out! Another amazing series and I can't wait to get all the stories! 💙

Ugh. This was not it.
Trip was just so pushy, and Stella was so into pushing him away.
I just really didn’t like their relationship.
It was just too much back and forth.

And then the resistance just breaks at the end, and Stella just accepts that as her life now…nah.

The plot was meh.
The relationship was more than meh.
The scene where we meet Sig was concerning and in no way shape or form made me want to read a single word about that vile man..
And the sex was hot but not hot enough to make up for everything else.
🤷🏻‍♀️
I swear I read this before and I remember it Way differently.

Damn near perfect. It’s a whole new series, a new MC, rising out of the ashes, shiny but messed up new characters, new town and new problems. I loved this book and so loved Trip and Stella. They are magical puzzle pieces that fit together and compliment each other perfectly, if only Stella will give it a chance. It’s a bit like a second chance novel and you know these two are meant to be together. They are both so damaged though. And Stella has a heartbreaking past. I can’t think of anything more terrible, actually. It’s horrible and tragic and I was rooting for her all the way. I wanted Trip to step up and be her Man and boy, does he ever. I love a hero who knows who he wants and won’t give up on his perfect woman. He is swoon-worthy. He’s also trying to build up a disbanded and disgraced MC from scratch, pretty much solely by pure grit and determination. He has his work cut out for him all with the help of some secondary characters that, I hope, will get their own books. This is the author’s best work yet - buy this book!

Yes, I read an Arc, bur this is an auto by for me.

So, if that's what I've got to look forward to with this new series then I definitely want more. This book was everything I could ask for in a book. The Hero was swoon-worthy but the heroine didn't make it easy for him. But she had her reasons and they were valid. 5 stars

Resurrecting the past and hoping for a brighter future puts Trip back in time. When his father was the head of the Blood Fury MC it was destroyed because of greed, illegal activities and dissension in the ranks. It is up to Trip to not only make the Blood Fury an MC to be proud of but to also give those who were born into the MC a chance to have something of there very own while at the same time bringing Stella back into the folds. But Stella wants no part of the MC - she just wants Trip in her bed. Can Trip get it all? Can he be the President his father should have been? With a brand new series Jeanne St. James once again proves that she is the queen of the MC. Wonderful characters that have numerous layers, a storyline that has strength and grit and the beginnings of a new era that I cannot wait to read more of makes this a fabulous read.

Absolutely Fantastic!! I needed to get that out!
This is the start of a new MC Series and I couldn’t love it more.
Blood Fury MC is being resurrected. Trip is bound and determined to get it up and going, making it better than before. He does not want the past to repeat itself. He has a lot of struggles and opposition but he is determined!
One struggle he wasn’t counting on is Stella! She was the girl that used to follow him around when he was a teenager. He wasn’t expecting her when he showed up in Manning Grove.
Trip and Stella are dynamic and so strong. You feel their strength, pain and frustrations while living their story.
Watching the club come together, the renewed hope of the old and new members is powerful.
Meeting all of the members in Trip’s book makes me so excited for the rest of this series.
Phenomenal read. Great world building and the characters will grab you and not let go.

This book surprised me in how much I liked it considering all the side plot of Trip talking men into coming on board with his idea. He didn't start of with a best friend or anyone else to help him with his dream. Just him and his ideals. I hope he can make them work long term.

The other thing that surprised me was how much like a real man it felt like Trip thought. A lot of these books are just a tad too PC with the inner monologue and I liked that this one was way less so and seem more legit in that regard even if it did catch me off guard a time or too.

I'm looking forward to the next story in the series.

Also, Adam Bryson and Teddy show up in this book.... what book are they from? I don't see them in the list of Boys in Blue series books.

Love the first book in a new series from Jeanne St. James. The book has to set the "world" you enter when you encounter this MC, plus intro the main character - additional adds, and a love interest. Not easy to do all in one book, but she accomplishes it well.
Love all of Ms St James' books - her characters are believable and real - flawed human beings that, for the most part, are striving for "better" in their lives. Her characters and the situations they find themselves in are intriguing - you are sucked in nearly from the first chapter. You can picture these people in your mind and wish you could meet them in real life. Your emotions become invested in their relationships - you read long past your bedtime, and just let the chores go in order to finish a page, a chapter, the entire book.
Cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Fresh start of an MC

Started slow but finished strong . This is the first in a new series and we get to literally see Trip build the MC from the beginning . This part was a bit slow finding new members , renovating, building businesses ect . He also meets Stella who he knew growing up in his father’s MC . I loved how he took care of Stella. They both have dark past but help one another move forward . I still had a lot of questions about them when their story ended so I’m not sure how that will pan out . Will we find out more about them in Sig’s book? It’s a good start and I’m excited to see what this new series brings!

This was kinda a low key MC book. Flatl9ne read

Stella.. I feel for her. What she went thru is so fucking hard. She was pointy in the beginning but softened up when Trip did his Knight in shining armor magic on her.

Trip.. was a little manipulative. He swooped in when she was at her lowest.. which made her easy pickings. Not the best trait in a man. He does treat Stella like a queen 👸🏻

I liked the side characters and hope the story develops into something a little more dramatic and dangerous.

Not a lot going on in this story.

I think Sig’s story would be a better one

I cannot stand a wavering h. The "I don't want him but he's super hot and he wants me so maybe I'll let him in my pants but I don't want him" drama through out the whole book was exhausting.
H was being a typical biker. All Alpha and Neanderthal like. Same old same old.

Here We Go Again!!

What I hate about Jeanne St James, she makes me invest in her characters.
What I LURVE about Jeanne St James, she makes me want to invest in her characters.
She breathes life into each one, making me want to jump onto their world and not sit on the sidelines!

This new series is no different! I'm already anticipating Sig and Judge as well as the other array of characters of Blood Fury.

It's a fine line between love and hate, yet Jeanne (my Queen) straddles it perfectly.

Now go read the damn book people!

Trip was one heck of a way to start a new series about blood fury mc that is being resurrected from having nothing left to hopefully an amazing mc club and wow Did Jeanne give this book her all. The writing was amazing and there was so much information to take in but it keeps you hooked line and sinker because I fell I love with trip and Stella. You couldn’t have made a better match then these two. Both Trip and Stella grow up in the club but when things went south and the club split there lives all took a different path fast forward 20 years and here is trip walking into crazy Pete’s bar and there is Stella. If you wanna see what happens next well I guess you should get to reading because this is one book you don’t wanna skip 100 stars still don’t seem like enough.

A fabulous start to a new series

This book isn’t quite your typical MC read. It’s more like the beginning of redemption and hope for so much more than what crashed and burned decades ago. And as much as I enjoyed the DAMC series by this author, I think I might end up liking this one just as much, if not more. I can’t wait to see how Sig finds his way next.

We're back in Manning Grove after a bit of a hiatus for the mediocre Dirty Angels MC Series, but this time, we get to hang with the Blood Fury MC, an MC that is rising from the ashes. And unlike the DAMC Series, this one is freaking fantastic. The author found her grove with these books, which is why I put up with the ones beforehand, since I wanted to know some of the backstory characters. While you don't need to read the Brothers in Blue trilogy, the Brysons show up in these books...a lot. It was nice to know more about them, though I didn't like their books that much.

Trip is the son of the former president of the BFMC, a club that died a fiery death after some s#!t went down. It's a sore subject for all of the kids of the originals (both alive and dead), and the town really can't stand the mention of the old club. They caused that much havoc during their reign of terror. Buuuuut, Trip still wants to get the band back together. Only this time, he wants to do it right, having the club be on the up and up. No more one percenter stuff. All legit.

Then there's Stella. She owns a bar a late former member used to own. She's also a person from Trip's past, so when Trip comes waltzing into her bar, those old memories come boiling back up. He's sexy and aggressive with what he wants, but that's the last thing she needs with the skeletons in her closet. However, Trip is persistent, and he gets what he wants. He just has to dodge the cops, some mountain crazies, the old memories of a dead club, and the death glares of the woman he loves to do it.

The book is quite good, though most of the conflict is just character conflict between Trip and Stella. Obviously, Trip spends time getting the club together, but it's mainly just Trip and Stella going back and forth. I felt like the book needed...something more, something to help push it along, to help give it more conflict. That's why I dropped it a star. Otherwise, it's very entertaining.

5 Blood Fury Stars

Blood & Bones: Trip is the first book in the Blood & Bones: Blood Fury MC by Jeanne St. James. Trip is an ex-marine who has just been released from prison and found out his grandfather has left his farm and everything he had to him in his Will. Determined to resurrect his father’s MC he starts putting his plan to play.  There's a lot of bad blood and bitter memories for many who are old enough to remember the originals but he is determined to have everything above board and legal.

This woman was going to be his ol’ lady, his goddamn queen. She was going to stand next to him while he rebuilt what the past destroyed.

The last thing he needs is to run into Stella, a blast from his past. A love sick puppy who followed him around when they were younger. Stella is trying to keep her head above water, she inherited her father’s pub but she also got his debt as well and is struggling to keep the bar open. This is all she has left and she is not going to fail... but maybe she is if she doesn't get help and the last time Stella will do is ask Trip for help.

“What’s mine? If you take it all, what’s left for me?” Without even the slightest hesitation, he said, “Me, baby. You got me. You can have all of me.”

This was a gut wrenching, heart-breaking but such a fantastic read. I loved every minute of it and I loved seeing everything come together for Trip right from the beginning. The secondary character’s where great and as always done so well by St. James. I highly recommend this book!

Sets the frame around the new series and introduces multiple new characters for future stories

For mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language throughout, steamy intimate scenes and violence. This is the start to a new MC series. While Trip wants to start and maintain it as a law abiding enterprise, there is still references to past acts that include dubious consent, fights, assault, murder, etc.

This series begins with this story, but Trip was introduced in a previous story in the Dirty Angels MC. This can be read as a stand-alone, but to fully understand and appreciate the approach he is taking, I highly recommend reading the other series by Jeanne St. James.

Just like her previous stories, this story is well written with only a couple of grammatical issues found (so refreshing! 😃). I gave this 4 stars as Stella’s story, fears, concerns, etc., especially in light of her past, seemed to be missing something. Could have benefited from open communication from Trip as to his beliefs and thoughts on how women, children, etc. would / should be treated and his manner of dealing with anyone not fulfilling his wishes. It was contained in his “internal dialogue” but not in actual conversation with other characters.

Interesting take on resurrecting a MC that went down in flames years ago, as well as the past crush and history of Trip and Stella.

Sorry trying to be careful with what is listed above, as I don’t want to accidentally provide any spoilers.

Trip was an asshole. He just showed up, demanded Stella change her whole entire life to accommodate him, he didn't care about her past and basically told her to get over it and take it day by day but that she 'wasn't allowed' to give up. There was no romance, no connection between the two. Just f****** and him telling her what was going to happen.

Stella "tried" to say no and fight it, but it just came across as annoying and so dumb.

I also couldn't stand the dialogue. It was annoying to read and I just wished they spoke in complete sentences.

This is also a personal pet peeve that I learned while reading this book, but I could not stand the terminology. Sleds - motorcycles, Scratch - money.

Then the way they talked about women throughout the entire book... just wanting pus** at the club and how they needed women to cater to them and bring them beers and recounting stories about women who used to be shared and licking the guys boots and God knows what else out in the open in front of everyone. Like I've read some kinky s*** but this was just awful. This whole book had undertones of being hella domineering and treating women like property and like crap.

They also had to VOTE FOR STELLA TO BE TRIPS " 'OL LADY"???? like wtf, if you want to be in a committed relationship, the club shouldn't have to freaking VOTE ON IT.

So many things made me mad throughout the book. I basically just hate read it to see what would happen in the end and it was not satisfying.

4.5 star review of Blood & Bones: Trip (Blood Fury MC #1) by Jeanne St James

Audio Review

I was excited when I learnt that Jeanne St James had a new MC series releasing. I loved Blood & Bones: Trip from the first chapter to the last. Trip is back in Manning Grove and is determined to bring life back to the Blood Fury MC which is father, as president destroyed. Seeking out former members, he comes across Stella that daughter of one of the Blood fury originals, Pete.
The performance by Ava Lucas and J.F.Harding was spot on and they most certainly did justice to the story. I loved how protective Trip was of Stella and when he learns of her tagic past, I fell a little bit more in love with him.
This was a rare, gritty, at times emotional story that got to me.The chemistry and passion between them is intense and the banter between them witty as they navigate the push and pull of their relationship. Both Ava Lucas and J.F. Harding brought all that to life for me with their performances.
I am excited to see what Ms. St James has in store for this series.
