Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery Public Engagement Survey - East Midlands

Closed 20 Jun 2021

Opened 24 May 2021

Overview

NHS England and NHS Improvement is responsible for commissioning (planning and buying) of NHS Dental Services to meet the local population needs. We are currently reviewing how we will run new Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery services.

Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery is a referral service for people aged 16 years and over provided within a community setting rather than having treatment in a Hospital. The service will provide specialist treatment e.g. complex dental extractions by a clinician with enhanced skills and experience that is either on the oral surgery specialist list or accredited in line with national guidance. Treatment may be provided under local anaesthetic and the clinician may use quality behavioural management techniques or provide treatment under conscious sedation where appropriate for minor oral surgery procedures.

We would like to involve members of the public in shaping future services by asking a number of questions about what is important about accessing the Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery services across the East Midlands.

Please can you complete this short survey which will inform any future decisions we may need to take to ensure patients can maintain access to specialist care in the community. We will use your comments when designing services for the future.

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and individuals will not be identified in any report produced. If you have any queries relating to the engagement process e.g. require a hard copy or interpretation to support completing, please email us at england.em-dentalengage@nhs.net .The closing date is 5.00pm on 20 June 2021.
