Author of four monographs, including Pollution from offshore installations (Martinus Nijhoff 1995 – Prix Paul Guggenheim), State immunity and the rule of law (Athens 2001), Functional jurisdiction in the Law of the Sea (Martinus Nijhoff, 2007), Energy installations at sea (2016 – in Greek); editor of eight volumes; numerous chapters and articles; co-editor-in-chief: Yearbook of International Environmental Law (OUP); member of the board of several law journals.

President of the Greek National Commission for Human Rights; member of the Board, European Network of National Human Rights Institutions – ENNHRI; member of the Bureau, Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions – GANHRI.

Head of the Greek delegation at the OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions and member of the Management Group; Head of the Greek delegation at the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) at the Council of Europe; member of the Expert Group on Corruption of the European Commission; member of the Management Board, Greek National Transparency Commission.
