#136 The Future of Mobility

In the 20 years before Covid-19 the proportion of 17- to 20-year-olds with a driving licence fell from nearly half to less than a third. Even before lockdowns and remote working, the way people moved was changing.

As we organise for the future, we need to understand that the decisions on what to build and what to invest in will have a direct impact on people’s behaviour. Investing in infrastructure for cars, encourages car use; building cycle lanes encourages cycling. The complexity increases with the growth of the digital world into our daily lives.

In this episode we look at a vision-led approach to transport planning, and new ways of thinking about our journeys.
