We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred. As an independent charity, we depend on public support and commercial income to care for six remarkable historic sites.

The palaces in our care are much in demand as filming locations for news, documentary and large-scale film crews. We are looking for a Filming Assistant to act as the first point of contact for small-scale filming enquiries across HRP’s six sites, organising recces, co-ordinating the filming diary with colleagues in operations, conservation and events, and supervising filming on the ground to ensure everything runs smoothly.  You will also assist the Filming Manager with large scale filming projects (e.g.  TV series, feature films) as required.

In all of your work, you will seek to help HRP achieve its charitable aims – maintaining our reputation as an authoritative voice on the history of the sites in our care and bringing their stories to as wide an audience as possible, in a variety of ways.  You’ll also seek to drive income through filming that supports our work conserving and caring for the palaces.

Bringing impeccable organisational skills, enthusiasm and creativity to the Media and PR team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of filming across our six sites. Self-motivated, you will be a team player who can juggle a busy workload and communicate effectively and confidently with colleagues at all levels, as well as production and broadcast partners.

This job requires a high amount of out of hours work as much of our filming can only take place when the palaces are closed to visitors.

You’ll have:

  • Relevant experience in film / TV, events management or PR / Communications.
  • Experience working in a busy environment, dealing with incoming enquiries
  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise and deal with reactive requests.
  • Reasonable knowledge of the workings of broadcast media, production companies and film crews.
  • An understanding of the importance of conservation when filming in heritage sites – respect for historic environments
  • A strong interest in culture/ heritage or interest in the media/ Film / TV production

Salary:                       £25,418

Closing date:            Monday 21 November 2022
