Curricular Unit Objectives

|
A unidade curricular tem como objetivo geral fornecer um conjunto alargado de informação que habilitem os alunos para intervenções no âmbito da salvaguarda e valorização do Património Cultural.

The curricular unit aims to provide a set of specific knowledge enabling students to operate in the sphere of cultural heritage safeguard and valorization.

Objectivos de Aprendizagem (Competências a Desenvolver ao Longo do Semestre) /

OA1 - Dominar as questões teóricas sobre a definição de património cultural, no contexto mundial;
OA2 - Conhecer as categorias operativas do Património Cultural, e e concreto o caso português;
OA3 - Conhecer os instrumentos administrativos, legislativos e os agentes na atuação da esfera patrimonial, em Portugal e no Mundo;
OA4 - Conhecer as políticas de salvaguarda e valorização do património cultural em Portugal, nomeadamente classificação, inventariação, musealização, conservação, restauro e educação;
OA5 - Conhecer as políticas de gestão e economia do património, entendido como factor de desenvolvimento sustentável.

LO1 ? Master the theoretical questions on the definition of Cultural Heritage, in the global context;
LO2 ? Knowledge of CH categories, with emphasis on the Portuguese context;
LO3 ? Knowledge of legislation, administrative processes and stakeholder in the heritage domain, in Portugal and in the world;
LO4 ? Knowledge of CH safeguard and valorization policies in Portugal, namely classification, inventory, conservation, restoration, musealization and education;

Evaluation process

Avaliação periódica com dois elementos de avaliação: 1. Dois comentários escritos individuais sobre matéria a disponibilizar pelo docente ao longo do semestre (25% da classificação final). 2. Trabalho final individual (75% da classificação final). Em caso de insucesso na avaliação periódica, há a realização de um exame final, pressupondo o mesmo nível de conhecimentos e de competências aferido na avaliação periódica.

Periodic evaluation with two elements: 1. Individual written essays on subjects preesnted by the teacher (25% of total grade); 2: Individual final assignement (75% of total grade). In case of negative grade, a final wrtitten exam reflecting all knowledges and competences of the periodic evaluation.

A metodologia assenta em aulas expositivas sobre os conteúdos programáticos complementadas com apresentação de casos práticos. Para uma melhor compreensão das problemáticas e da realidade portuguesa, são indispensáveis visitas ao terreno em contacto com os profissionais do setor. Programada uma saída de campo.

The methodology is based on lectures on the syllabus, complete with presentation of case studies. For a better understanding of issues and the Portuguese reality, field visits are essential in touch with the professionals. one field trip will be scheduled.

Demostration of coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes

As aulas teóricas e as saídas de campo permitem ao aluno adquirir os conhecimentos e competências básicas, para a compreensão das questões essenciais que se colocam hoje no sector do património cultural. No trabalho individual, o aluno tem oportunidade de refletir sobre os conceitos adquiridos aplicados a um caso concreto. Pretende-se assim garantir aos alunos uma capacidade de atuar futuramente na esfera do património, quer no campo da investigação quer na construção de projetos de dinamização patrimonial, ou ainda na gestão dos bens patrimoniais.

The lectures and field trips allow students to acquire the knowledge and basic skills for understanding the key issues facing today's cultural heritage field. In individual work the student has an opportunity to reflect on the acquired concepts applied to a real live situation. Therefore it aims to ensure students future ability to perform in the sphere of cultural heritage, either in the field of research, in heritage promotion projects or cultural heritage management.
