About us
Gothenburg Pain Lab was founded by Associate Professor Paulin Andréll, MD, PhD, and Professor Axel Wolf, RN, PhD in 2021.
The Lab consists of a core group of researchers affiliated with Gothenburg University and Sahlgrenska University hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. We provide a research platform for regional (Västra Götalands region), national and international interdisciplinary research with a focus on person-centred, acute and chronic pain management.
Our Research
Our research focuses on the patient experience of chronic pain and on testing person-centred interventions for the better treatment of long-term pain conditions.
