Dusty Kennedy Member
Dusty Kennedy was a member of the Interim Youth Work Board.
Dusty is Director of Consultancy at TRM Academy, a Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Business and Society, University of South Wales. On the Interim Youth Work Board he leads on Digital Youth Work.
Dusty has 19 years’ experience working in the youth justice system; first as a volunteer mentor and, most recently, 6 years as Director of the YJB in Wales, responsible for national oversight of youth offending teams, contracts and commissioning of the children's secure estate, government relations and developing innovative practice; including the ECM project to test application of TRM in YOTs.
Before this he spent 3 years as Welsh Government Head of Youth Justice Strategy; using experience gained in practice and senior management at the national policy formulation level.
Most recently he worked in Public Health Wales, leading on the prisons and probation strand of the Early Action Together Programme; a pan-Wales collaboration embedding trauma-informed practice into policing and criminal justice.
