Several media Tuesday reported that Erik Botheim from the Arctic Norwegian football club Bodø/Glimt was approaching an agreement with Russian Krasnodar in a deal totaling $10 Million.

Eurosport, Nettavisen, and NRK reported this on Tuesday. $8,9 million will be paid immediately, while $2,2 million are performance-based bonuses, based on information to which NRK is privy.

At the moment, Glimt is just waiting for confirmation from Russia.

Last year, Bodø/Glimt became the first football team from the Arctic to win a national top league for the first time ever. In 2021, they won the Norwegian top league Eliteserien for the second time in a row.

This has made the players from Bodø/Glimt very attractive for clubs all over Europe. Patrick Berg, playing defensive midfielder, was recently sold to the French club RC Lens for $4,4 million.

Bodø/Glimt was founded in 1916, and this is the first time a team from Northern Norway has won the title. Until 1963, Northern Norwegian teams were banned from all-Norwegian football.

Major transitions from Glimt in the last two years:

Håkon Evjen to AZ Alkmaar – $2,8 million - 2019*

Amor Layouni to Pyramids – $1,6 million - 2019*

Jens Petter Hauge to AC Milan – $5,6 million - 2020*

Kasper Junker to Urawa Red Diamonds – $2,3 million - 2021*

Patrick Berg to RC Lens – $4,4 million - 2021*

Total $16,7 million*

The transfer sums have not been confirmed, but are what was reported at the relevant time. (Source: NRK)
