Dear Friends,

Kirkland Nourishing Network is still here! Thank you for being here with us.

You have helped your neighbors, strengthened our youth and inspired our community.  Your support matters!

We still need your help. As this school year continues, hundreds of families are challenged more than ever. The child tax credit has expired, the child care stabilization grant ended September 30, rent increase holds and eviction freezes have stopped.

But the average rent in Kirkland has climbed 13% to $2488 a month.  And spending more to keep your home, means less money for food.

As we prepare for Spring Break and summer, we are working with the school district to identify more than 700 Kirkland families with school children that need food support.  We need to raise over $120,000 to help all the kids in need this year.

Will you help us?  And will you please spread the word to 5 friends? Please use this link to make an online donation:

KNN is not the entire solution, but your help plugs an important gap that would otherwise leave kids and families at risk over school breaks. Your participation in the network is essential – no other program gets to them as effectively.

Free school meals provided by the school district cover day-to-day needs.  Pantry Packs, from Lake Washington Schools Foundation, cover a bag of snacks for weekends.  KNN supports during the four school breaks.  Most of you know this.  We include it so when you share this with your friends, they can get a better picture.

Letting your friends know about this can also be VERY helpful in lightening the load and keeping the network growing.

As usual, we work with the school staff that know these children well.  Your support goes directly to the families, and we completely offset the costs with volunteer support.  In fact, your kindness stimulates help from the Kirkland Kiwanis and Rotary clubs and other organized efforts.

Your reputation for compassion has sparked other communities to start volunteer programs to help like Kirkland does.

Bless you for caring.
