About the Team:
This is an exciting opportunity to have a key role in the creation of an innovative new frontline community development programme in Hounslow Council.One Hounslow Connect is a new online platform that brings together a number of Council directories and databases into one single information platform that will support the Council’s new approach to supporting our residents – called Community Solutions. This new platform will connect residents to a range of local support services so they receive the necessary advice and guidance to enable them to live healthier, happier and more independent lives.
You will be part of the Council’s Community Partnerships Unit. This is the team that is delivering Hounslow Council’s vision of a vibrant, self-sustaining and ambitious VCSE sector in our borough and maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship between the Council and the groups and organisations that make up Hounslow’s voluntary sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. To establish the One Hounslow Connect platform as the borough’s primary information source for the full range of community-based offers, activities and services that are available in line with the Council’s new Community Solutions approach.2. To proactively reach out to VCSE & health organisations within the borough to ensure as many of them as possible join and remain on the new platform. This will include organising and delivering an ongoing programme of 1- 1 engagement and information sessions and workshops to promote the benefits of One Hounslow Connect.3. To liaise with external organisations and internal Council services to maximise the quality of their content on the platform – ensuring it is up to date, accurate and relevant.4. To help shape the ongoing development of the platform by using data and insight to inform decisions over future functionality requirements.
Your Skills
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to proactively contact and communicate with a range of stakeholders across the many diverse communities in Hounslow.2. Able to demonstrate technical competence in the relevant range of ICT skills to ensure the required understanding of all current and upcoming features of the One Hounslow Connect platform.3. Relationship building skills; able to show evidence of successful networking skills as well as the proven ability to build collaborative relationships and manage stakeholders.4. A thorough understanding of the role of the voluntary and community sector in supporting their communities together with experience of working successfully with external partners and VSCE organisations.
Essential for The Role
1. Experience of working to strict deadlines and delivering work accurately and on time.2. Experience of writing and editing copy for websites and online platforms.3. Experience of working within a Third Sector environment.
This post is considered by the authority to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
