Zedéll Piano Trio

The Zedéll Piano Trio is a young emerging ensemble, formed in 2017 by current postgraduate students at the Royal Academy of Music. Although based in London, the trio is made up of international members, from Portugal to Indonesia to Korea. The Trio was the winner of the annual Isaacs and Pirani Piano Trio Prize held at the Academy with the performance of Smetana’s Piano Trio. They have additionally competed in the Harold Craxton Prize, also held at the Academy.

The Zedéll Trio was most recently selected to play in an upcoming masterclass by Trio Owon later this January in the Angela Burgess Recital Hall at the Royal Academy of Music, where they will be performing Shotakovich’s Piano Trio No. 1. The Trio has previously held early-evening and lunchtime concerts at the Academy. They have worked with musicians such as Christoph Richter, Adrian Brendel, Sung-Won Yang, Levon Chilingirian, Richard Ireland, Jim Sleigh, and Andrew West. Inês da Costa Bastos plays on a violin by Giuseppe Gagliano (Naples, 1791), and Ye Jin Choi plays on a cello by Rogeri (Brescia, 1690), both generously loaned by the Royal Academy of Music.
