The initial vision for MES was born in 1986 when the Johannesburg East Dutch Reformed Church started with an outreach programme that handed out food parcels to the homeless and unemployed community of Hillbrow. MES facilitates professional services to vulnerable or at risk individuals, families and communities. The  core services are implemented in each of four branches, depending on the need of the community and available  resources.

During the 35th celebratory webinar, MES will share some key insights, milestones and information on the valuable impact made over the past 35 years in the South African inner metropolitan cities.

The celebration will be facilitated on a globally recognised leading and engaging webinar platform by a professional facilitation team. You will also have the opportunity to make a donation to or get involved in MES nationally or at branch or impact programme level.

MES has been changing the hearts of South Africa's cities since 1986

Since 1986, MES has been developing a unique strategy that addresses the development of the communities it serves. MES is a Christian social development organisation that has been changing the heart of the city since 1986 and has been actively working towards providing sustainable solutions to pervasive poverty in the inner cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and Kempton Park. MES follow a holistic approach towards the development of people, while applying resources that ensure the successful and sustainable exit from the different programmes.
