NEW POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The M Ed in Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship is a brand new masters focusing on climate justice, outdoor learning, biodiversity, intercultural education, peace studies and children’s agency. This two-year part-time programme will be delivered both online and on-site at our Limerick campus.

The M Ed in Digital Leadership in Education is the first of its kind in Ireland and is designed for those working in education to support them to lead, design, implement and evaluate an integrated and innovative model of digital learning within their educational contexts. The programme is delivered through a hyflex model and is also offered at certificate and diploma level. SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES

Financial support structures for students undertaking postgraduate research are critical in attracting world-class students to our campus, and students pursuing or intending to pursue research-based postgraduate degrees at MIC are eligible to apply for a suite of funding supports.

The deadline for the MIC Doctoral Award, Postgraduate Studentship and Doctoral Studentship is 26 April.

The Department of Theology and Religious Studies at MIC is currently offering a PhD scholarship, as well as 10 bursaries to eligible postgraduate students as part of the Global Researchers in Advancing Education (GRACE) Project.

The PhD scholarship, valued at €80,000, is available for a PhD student who is undertaking research in the area of Catholic Education. Apply by 1 May!

The 10 bursaries, valued at €8,000 each, are available for students participating on the MA in Christian Leadership in Education programme. Apply by 1 June!

At MIC we offer a number of Departmental Assistantships to research students consisting of an annual stipend of €6,900 and a full fee waiver. The following departments are currently offering assistantships - French Studies, History, Drama and Theatre Studies, Mathematics and Computer Studies, Arts Education and Physical Education, and Reflective Pedagogy and Early Childhood Studies. Application closing dates vary.

We currently have two sports scholarship schemes open for application.

The MIC GPA Scholarship Scheme is open to GPA members only who have been offered a place on one of our postgraduate programmes. Two scholarships are awarded annually consisting of a full fee waiver.

The MIC Elite Sports Scholarship Scheme is open to incoming and current postgraduate students. Two scholarships are awarded annually and each scholarship is valued at €4,000.

The Certificate / Diploma / MA in Christian Leadership in Education at MIC Limerick is designed to enhance the development of leadership capacity within primary and post-primary schools. The programme explores key issues of educational leadership, policy and management within the context of faith-based schools. Learn more
On the M Ed in Middle Leadership and Mentoring at MIC Thurles you will gain greater knowledge, skills and insights into the role of middle leaders in our schools. This two-year programme, endorsed by the Centre for School Leadership, is designed to suit teachers’ professional lives and is delivered through a combination of on-campus and online lectures and tutorials. Learn more
