Apprenticeships are a great way to develop a future pipeline of talent for our business and to invest in our people. Apprenticeships allow us to grow our own talent pipeline with the skills for the future we need to succeed and grow. We have many examples across the business of individuals who have joined us as apprentices and have now progressed into more senior roles. Who can do an apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are available to existing employees as a development programme. They provide a great opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge and to obtain nationally recognised qualifications to support career progression We have three different types of apprenticeships at Mitie: Professional These are often linked to specific professional roles including finance, HR, health and safety, legal and procurement. If all your questions aren’t answered, contact us and we’ll be happy to help (contact details are below). Am I eligible to do an apprenticeship? You must be employed by Mitie and work a minimum of 30 hours per week in order to qualify for the funding. You must not have any prior learning or qualifications in the same topic of the apprenticeship programme to be eligible. There is also a requirement to attend off the job training within your normal working hours. You will need to ensure you have the agreement of your line Manager and have the committed and capacity to complete your studies. Dependent on location and eligibility there may be government funding available to support the training costs associated with an apprenticeship Programme. Any other related costs such as salary and travel will need to be paid for by local departmental budgets. For colleagues in England ONLY When looking at apprenticeships, it is important that you have a conversation with your Line Manager and consider the development needs and skills required in your current role, as well as the longer-term career prospects that an apprenticeship can provide.
