Are pleased to invite you to an
« Industry Day » webinar,
on the Short Straits Channel crossing
Monday 8th March 2021
from 9:00 to 13:00 (Paris time)
Since the United Kingdom officially left the European Union’s single market and customs union on 31st December 2020, both sides have been trading on the terms defined in the new UK-EU free-trade agreement. Although this agreement ensures trade is exempt from quotas or tariffs, a number of new formalities and control processes have come into force on 1st January 2021. This webinar will allow taking stock of the first two months of trading under these new circumstances in order to provide advice on specific do’s/don’ts for European companies who use the Short Straits transport infrastructures, and answer any of their questions.
In order to optimise preparations for this event, please do send any questions related to these topics in advance of the event, at the International Relations Department : celine.van@hautsdefrance.fr.
Key objectives :
• Present how cross-Channel trade has fared since 1st January 2021, with a specific focus on what companies can do to keep their operations smooth in light of new controls.
• Promote and insist on the need for preparation and anticipation when engaging in cross-Channel trade.
• Bring concrete responses to participants’ questions.
