The COVID-19 pandemic changed the nature of medical interpreting in Australia overnight. In a matter of weeks, we went from mostly face-to-face interpreting to predominantly remote interpreting (phone and video). We faced new challenges, learned from our early mistakes and developed new strategies. In this webinar we will take stock of the changing landscape and the lessons learnt. More specifically, the webinar will provide an overview of:

  • similarities and differences between telephone and video interpreting
  • NSW HCIS video Interpreting platforms and protocols
  • remote interpreting challenges and the lessons learnt
  • best practice strategies for remote interpreting.

This live webinar offers an opportunity to share your remote interpreting experiences with your peers, ask questions and develop best practice strategies.
