New guidance published for registered higher education providers

The Office for Students (OfS) has published new guidance for all registered higher education providers.

The guidance sets out in more detail how the OfS will regulate providers, building upon the OfS’s regulatory framework which sets out the conditions of registration all providers must meet.

Two documents have been published:

  • the first, Regulatory advice 15: Monitoring and intervention, will assist registered providers in understanding how the OfS will monitor compliance with the ongoing conditions of registration. It provides additional information on how particular sections of the regulatory framework will operate in practice and how a provider can demonstrate that it complies with its conditions of registration.
  • the second, Regulatory advice 16: Reportable events, provides guidance for registered providers about the reportable events registered providers must report to the OfS. It provides additional information about the types of events that must be reported, how providers should submit a reportable event and what the OfS will do with this information.

The OfS is holding a series of events for higher education providers to explain our approach and requirements in these areas. There are still some places left for events in Birmingham and Bristol.
