Paisley Food and Drink Festival

Friday 26 - Saturday 27 April, 2024

Paisley Food and Drink Festival will return to Abbey Close and Bridge Street on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April.

The free-to-attend, outdoor food and drink event will feature more than 35 delicious food and drink traders from across Scotland from 4pm to 10pm on Friday and from 12noon to 9pm on Saturday.

With lots of free fun on offer for children and families too, this year’s festival promises a delectable day out for everyone.

Food and Drink Traders

Shawarma wraps, bubble waffles, pizza, nachos, real ales, curry and more. Every mouth-watering cuisine will be covered, with food and drink traders from both Renfrewshire and beyond booked to attend. This year you can expect to see:

The Brew Hub will also have a bar area with music and pizzas, on the grass outside Renfrewshire House on Cotton Street.


 

Live entertainment

Live music will be playing in multiple locations across the festival site, featuring bands and artists of all genres. Here’s the festival’s full playlist:

The Rum Shack

DJs will play to the evening food fest crowd with sets booked with Radio Bueno Vida from 6pm to 10pm on Friday and 5pm to 9pm on Saturday.

Busking Zone

Located in Abbey Gardens, this year’s busking zone will feature performances from local artists and community groups; including Fèis Phàislig, Adam Slattery & Hollie Robinson, Crawford Smith & Shaun Moore and loads more.

Pop-up choir performances from Paisley Rock Choir at 12pm and RockUs Community at 5pm Saturday, will take place opposite the entrance to Paisley Town Hall.

Free fun for children and families

We’ve also got young foodies covered too. As well as all traders offering kids’ portions on their menus, there will be a buffet of free activities for youngsters on Saturday.

Kids’ Pizza Making Workshops

  • 6 bookable sessions at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm

Join Hub International for a DIY pizza session. Ingredients, hats and aprons will be provided, plus whatever you make, you’ll take away. Some drop-in places will be available on the day, but we recommend you book a place in advance.

Story Wagon

  • Drop-in 12pm – 5pm, with storytelling performances at 1pm, 2pm and 4pm.

Parked up beside Paisley Abbey, the Story Wagon will offer drop-in activities all about food glorious food. Write, read or tell stories about the foods that have nourished you and the meals that mattered.

Adrenalism Theatre presents ‘The Good, The Bad and The Poultry’

  • Performances at 1.30pm and 3.30pm, plus walkabout fun on site.

Do you feel clucky punk? Don’t miss this fun, silly show featuring cowboy chickens and a grand shootout finale. Audience participation will be mandatory!

Free bouncy castles and inflatables as well as face painting and balloon modelling from 12pm – 5pm too.


 

A bumper weekend

Delivered by OneRen, Paisley Book Festival will take place Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 April and this year’s theme is ‘Imagine Something Different’. A 4-day celebration of reading, writing and creativity, the programme includes author chats with Judy Murray, Sally Magnusson and Pat Nevin.

Paisley Farmer’s Market will be in town on Saturday 27 April, 10am – 2pm. Featuring 30 local producers, this community market has won recognition from BBC Good Food Magazine as one of the best in the UK.
