Less emissions,
more energy,
always sustainable

Introduction
Eric Delattre Eric Delattre

TotalEnergies is undergoing the biggest transition in almost 100 years of history. We are transforming into a multi-energy company with the clear ambition of entering the global top 5 of renewable energy producers by 2030. And we are well on our way, with large projects within solar, wind, biogas, and hydrogen and already 17 GW of installed capacity worldwide. Hopefully, we will also soon be able to launch our first project in Denmark.

However, we are also aware that oil and gas will be needed for many years to come. Our current energy systems´ dependance on hydrocarbons has become undeniably clear after the invasion of Ukraine.

At TotalEnergies we are fully aware of our vital role and the important responsibilities we have been assigned by the Danish state as the main operator in the North Sea. The hydrocarbons below these rough waters constitute a unique resource which is in high demand to ensure Denmark’s and the EU’s energy security. Our key priority is to deliver Tyra.

When Tyra is back on stream, it will be able to deliver significant gas supplies with a 30% lower carbon footprint. This demonstrates the significant savings we can realize as part of our corporate efforts to drive down Scope 1 and 2 emissions. We have a corporate reduction goal of over 40% lower GHG emissions by 2030 and here in our Danish operations we are determined to deliver our part.

A special focus in our GHG reduction efforts has been methane emissions. Here in the North Sea we have deployed drones to improve detection of leakages – part of a global TotalEnergies programme to reduce emissions by 80% by 2030 relative to 2020 levels.

Finally, I want to mention our biodiversity focus. We have a sincere interest in supporting life at sea and on land in the North Sea region and some of the main programmes are described in this report. We look forward to launching more initiatives in the near future with partners in the region.
