Find out about peer review
Debate challenges to the system
Discuss the role of peer review for scientists and the public

We are hosting a Quality and Peer Review  workshop for PhD students, postdocs and early career professionals on Friday 17 June 2022 hosted with Cambridge University Press and Assessment at the University of Cambridge. This workshop is free and for STEM and social sciences early career researchers (PhD students, post-docs or equivalent in your first job) and clinical trainees/professionals in your first job. There will be opportunities to put your questions to experienced reviewers, journal editors and publishers. Apply for your free place by 17:00, 18 May 2022.

The free Quality and Peer Review workshop will explore how peer review works, how to get involved, the challenges to the system, and the role of peer review in helping the public to evaluate research claims. A diverse range of topics may come up. Should peer review detect plagiarism, bias and fraud? What does peer review do for science and what does the scientific community want it to do for them? Should reviewers remain anonymous? Does it illuminate good ideas or shut them down? Get involved and apply for your free spot at the workshop today to discuss the answers to all these questions and more.
