GLOBAL MIGRATION NETWORK

The Global Migration Network, a research group at the University of the West of England, Bristol, brings together academics and practitioners interested in migration-related issues. Our aim is to facilitate and contribute to cross-disciplinary research on migration, inform policy and public debate, and engage with users of migration research.

Our research and policy work addresses the causes of migration, its effects on migration-sending and migration-receiving societies, and the experiences of migrants themselves. A special focus of our work is on migration driven by conflict and climate change. We are also interested in other types of mobility, such as tourism, and questions related to ethnicity and identity.

Our expertise spans across a range of disciplines, including Anthropology, Business Studies, Education, Economics, Geography, Journalism, History, Law, Psychology, Politics and Sociology.
