FAQ

By Subway: BICOCCA station of the M5 line is the closest: 5' walk far from Piazza della Scienza (the conference venue) and the Department of Mathematics.
For further information on the public transit network in Milan check on ATM website.

By Train: GRECO-PIRELLI train station is the closest: almost in front of Piazza della Scienza (the conference venue) and the Department of Mathematics.
The ticket for the urban public transport is still valid inside the urban rail network (Mi1-Mi3 zone).

  • From Porta Garibaldi station, which is also a metro stop of the M5 line, suburban and local trains reaching Greco-Pirelli in 6' leave every 10-15 minutes.
  • From Centrale station the easiest way to get to the venue is by subway: take M3 line to Zara station, then change to M5 line.
  • Suburban and local trains to Greco-Pirelli also depart from Lambrate station, Forlanini station and Rogoredo station.
For the train schedule and further information check on Trenord website.

By Airplane: if you land at Malpensa Airport, the Malpensa Express train connects both terminals with Porta Garibaldi station and Centrale station - check the schedule here. Several bus services connect Linate Airport and Orio al Serio Airport with the city centre (with Centrale station as final destination).

The conference will take place in two different meeting rooms throughout the week, please take note of the following ("aula" is the italian word for "classroom"). Here is a map you may find useful.

The room for the minicourses will be Aula U2-06.
The parallel sessions will be held in Aula U2-06 and Aula U2-07.

There are funds available to provide accommodation for some participants.

- Please indicate during the registration whether you wish to apply for funding.

- Applicants for funding will receive an answer by April 15th.

- Funded participants will be accommodated in Hotel Ornato.

If you wish to give a talk, please send the title and the abstract by email to

gaby@unimib.it.

Further information on talks: deadline for abstract submission is March 31st, 2022.
The scientific committee will communicate the selected talks by April 15th.

The posters will be available through the whole conference and there will be an official poster session on Monday 13th June, starting at 17.30.

Everybody can contribute.

The scientific committee will choose the best poster of GABY 2022.

You can bring your poster already printed, or you can mail it to us a few days in advance. More info will be sent in May.

Funded participants will be notified by April 15th.
If you wish to indicate a participant as a preferred room-mate, please send us an email.

Beside the above mentioned Hotel Ornato, near the Bicocca Campus you can also consider the following possibilities for accommodation:

The above suggested options of accommodation are all (more or less) within walking distance from the University. However, there are many other possibilities closer to the city centre, considering that Bicocca is well-connected by public transport.

The social dinner will take place at Spirit de Milan (close to the metro stop Affori), on Wendnesday 15th June at 20:00. See this section for more information.

Please note that Covid-19 regulations for travelling and living in Italy are constantly changing. To stay updated we recommend to visit Viaggiare Sicuri and salute.gov.it. The current restrictions on campus can be found at unimib.it/about-us/covid-19.
