The European Committee for Standardization is one of three European Standardization Organizations (together with CENELEC and ETSI) that have been officially recognized by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.

Building Automation, Controls and Building Management |
Standardisation of building automation, controls and building management systems and services for residential and non-residential buildings. These standards include the definitions, requirements, functionality and test methods of building automation products and systems for automatic control of building services installations. The primary integration measures include application interfaces, systems and services to ensure an efficient technical building management in cooperation with commercial and infrastructural building management. Excluded from this scope are areas of building automation which are under the responsibility of other CEN/CENELEC TC's.
