Help us make October's Black History Month our biggest yet.

UCL's Black History Month is coordinated by the BME Network, but can only happen with support of clubs, societies, networks and departments.

This year, we're continuing with the theme of BLACK FUTURES, building on the conversations, events and ideas shared in 2019.

BLACK FUTURES asks us:

  • to create a positive vision for the future by understanding the past and present.
  • how we want to move from surviving to thriving.
  • to reclaim history for ourselves because history is political and so is our future.

Black History Month is an opportunity for all students and staff at UCL to take part in events, projects, exhibitions, talks and sessions to learn about, and celebrate, Black History.

Applications are open for club, society, network and academic department led events - just complete the form below. This form will close on 13 September.

This year will be like no other, social distancing will mean the majority of Black History Month events will have to take place online, with only small group activities allowed to take place. All on campus events will be required to have a thorough risk assessment, and we're here to help you get this right.
